Hi Cap, Yes, the product works well. I maintain my own boat only. I have a boat cover but it is a real pain to put on as it is a large Tri-toon Bennington. We are on the boat every weekend and it is impractical to mess with the cover during boating season. I will order some more but let me know when the 32 oz is available.
From Jim Neumann,NAUTICARE Professional Yacht Services.
I had to write you this brief letter to tell you how excited I am about your “Bird and Spider Stain Remover”. My company, NAUTICARE Professional Yacht Services has been managing and caring for privately owned yachts and boats since 1993. Over the years my crew and I have gone through almost every product on the shelf trying to find a cleaning product that work well on bird and spider stains without stripping away the boats wax or polish. It wasn’t until the beginning of the boating season that we discovered “Captain John’s Bird and Spider Stain Remover“ and gave it the real world test. Without a doubt, your product is the best we have ever used for removing bird and spider stains. The entire boating season NAUTICARE Professional Yacht Services used Captain John’s on every boat in our care. To this day they are all stain free and the waxy finish and shine remain. Thank you for such a great product.
I honestly hope you can help. Several weeks ago local seagulls had a sushi feast on my boat. The leftovers were large and small and mostly on non-skid. When I got to the boat I cleaned up whatever I could pick up, but the sun-baked stains remained. Ive tried whatever I possibly could including Barkeepers Friend and Total Boat White Knight. They both have oxalic acid as main ingredient. It stayed there for 30-40 minutes, I didnt touch it. Next I got oxalic acid as powder and made my own very strong mix. Again, no major effect. Next, In desperation, I broke out 3000 PSI power washer, which again didnt remove the stains. My marine biologist friend said to try Draino.
If bleach fails, move on to acids. We suggest a cleaner containing hydrochloric acid (HCl). You can make your own solution using diluted muriatic acid (30-35 percent HCl) from a pool supply house or hardware store. This will be the least expensive route (see One Bucket Cleaning Kit, PS May 2017.) Dilute with water to get a 3 percent solution of HCl. Pour acid into water-never the opposite-and protect your eyes. You can try a slightly higher concentration, but be careful! The pH is very low and this concoction will quickly corrode aluminum and most other metals.
Weve not tried Draino, but can recommend a method that has worked very well for us. With any stain, you want to start with the least aggressive cleaner. An ordinary boat soap or phosphate free laundry detergent (diluted as directed) will get most stains if your hull is recently waxed. If that wont work, your next weapon is diluted chlorine bleach.
Spiders are rarely welcome, but boats often make attractive homes for arachnids. Spiders will often come aboard in search of food (namely insects) and a place to nest, particularly during the summer months when their numbers boom. Protect your boat from spiders by keeping it clean and crumb-free, invest in spider nets or screens, and consider the use of a (natural) spider spray!
The advantage of using netting over screens is that it’s easier to achieve full coverage (and therefore more complete protection) of your boat. here
The principle of spider netting is the same as that for screens; it’s a way of creating a physical barrier to prevent spiders (and their droppings) from landing on your deck. here
It may be tempting to reach for the insecticides, but these are not recommended for use on boats. Devices such as foggers and bug bombs may work OK at home, but in small, confined spaces the harsh chemicals in these devices could damage the interior of your boat. Even if they don’t, you may find that you’re stuck with the smell for weeks, and the chemicals could wreak havoc in the surrounding aquatic ecosystem. more
Keep your boat clean and bug-free to avoid tempting spiders inside! [links]
An added bonus of using netting is that it can also provide some protection from birds, as they won’t want to land on such an unstable surface. This means not only fewer spiders on your boat but less bird poop, too! [links]
There are also boat waxes you can use to protect the finish of your boat. Netting will also keep spiders off the boat if applied correctly.
Female spiders will carry their eggs between their spinnerets.
Dock spiders are found all over the world in boggy, wet, or damp areas with plenty of water.
If you buy a few large bottles and pour them out into smaller containers (use plastic storage bins) and put them around your boat dock to evaporate, the scent should keep spiders away. more
The female then carries her eggs around on the abdomen until they hatch. Spiders can lay up to 1400 eggs in multiple sacs. The eggs will hatch shortly after an incubation period and the spiderlings are off.
While you can’t do anything about the bugs in the water, you can prevent them from coming into your property annex.
I did buy some StarBrite bug and spider poop remover, and it appears to have some enzymes to easily remove the solids. I have used it on my SUV windshield, but had to come back with window cleaner to get a film off. I'm not optimistic it'll remove the pinhead stains, however.
We took delivery just 3 weeks ago and almost immediately saw small grey stains on each of the seats. The stains are mostly about 1/4 inch or random shapes. Some larger. We're using the playpen cover and can't imagine that we've done anything that would have caused these. Dealer says he's seen it on several other new Bennington's and that they disappear on their own over time. Does that make sense at all? Anyone else seen this on new Bennie's??
303 also sells a cleaner . Mine came right off ,then reapply the 303 protectant

I protected mine with 303 almost immediately after delivery.
Spider droppings can leave pin head size stains after the solids are removed. I've yet to find anything to remove these tiny stains on my Ivory colored seats. I've been using Zep orange degreaser/cleaner and Mr. Clean Magic Eraser on the spots after Mean Green wouldn't budge it.
