Thank You

You aren't in the adjust by ear motors anymore. [links]
Do you have a Vacu-mate to balance the intake vacuum? There is no sinc and link adjustments like a two stroke. more
Thanks Capt. Ken & Don,
I have access to the low speed needles.
I do not have a Vacu-Mate at this time. [links]
There are no vacuum ports to hook up to on 2 strokes here
Re: synchronize yamaha carbs [links]
Get yourself a manometer/carb sticks. Basically what they do, is measure the vacuum at idle for each carb. Then you adjust the carbs so that they all match. I am not familar with the 2 strokes, but on the 4 stroke, each carb has a 6mm plug that gets removed, and an adapter screwed in. Then you attach each tube to each adapter. Start engine, and adjust. If you are using a mercury type, and the carbs may be way off, you might want to pinch off each line before you start it so the mercury does not get sucked into engine. Its not that hard to do if you have the proper tools.
Re: synchronize yamaha carbs [links]
unclip the throttle cam and move it away from the roller, back off the idle speed stop screw about 3 turns.
loosen the carb sync screws, make sure all shutters are closed and tighten the sync screws, move the idle stop screw back to its previous llocation, reconnect the throttle cam.
test engine idle speed, adjust cam to roller so the cam contacts the roller when the engine timing is about 8*ATDC but the roller cannot touch the cam at dead idle. here
It appears that if you have a early plastic topped carburetor cover and are having problems, by all means protect what you have as it will get expensive to convert to the new conversion kit. Do so even if you have to JB Weld things back together.
Adjust the Slow Speed Stop Post 87 Motors : After 1987 the side stop knob was discontinued when the cable throttle system was instituted. The new slow speed setting was then changed to a twist knob on the end of the twist throttle. here

Now an update on this new cover utilizing the molded in plastic peg for the pivot of the carburetor roller arm. Be sure you use the right O-Ring retainer on this peg, (#33 in the illustration above). If it does not secure the arm, (or becomes broken) you will get erratic idling, hard starting and no top end speed because the carburetor arm is disconnected. If you need to replace this O-Ring, a well stocked hardware store may have them in a size of 3/16" ID X 5/16" OD. more
If you are on a personal connection, like at home, you can run an anti-virus scan on your device to make sure it is not infected with malware.
If you are at an office or shared network, you can ask the network administrator to run a scan across the network looking for misconfigured or infected devices. here
