My problem - beeping alarm started on my initial drive upon putting her in the water. i let it warm up for 10 minutes, then opened her up, she got in plane, then the RPMs dropped suddenly. tried again to get on plane, and she would go. pulsating RPMs, as though the engine would try to 'catch up' to the throttle position, but couldnt. Alarm started Beeping. limped do dock.
At dock, drained Racor Fuel/water separator. tried to start, but wouldnt start, and alarm beep sounded. [links]

Here’s the thing about Kate. She’s always up for an adventure, and she brings a bright cheery attitude even on a night like this with an into-the-wind sail for 7 miles up the lake. That’s 7 as. more
My Tohatsu 9.8 outboard stopped starting last month. This was very unusual because that is a great motor, and it has always started on the first or second pull since I bought it 3 years ago. I decided to blog about the repair in the hope it helps someone with a similar problem. The night I finally figure it out, there was this incredible rainbow that ended right on my dock. Clearly, this was a sign. (I just hope my dockmates are ok with me bringing animals 2 by 2 down to the slip…)

I'm Mike, the guy behind Unsinkable 2. I've owned several sailboats over the past 15+ years and chartered sailboats around the world. What started as lessons with my kids has turned into sailing certifications, a captain's license, and a life long hobby that takes us sailing all over the world. I love sharing what I'm learning along the way and helping others get into sailing.

Tohatsu Corporation offers outboard engines ranging from 2.5 to 140 horsepower. For our country, the fact that Tohatsu motors are undemanding to the quality of fuel and oils is important. On the boats with the engines of this Japanese company, many records were set. One of them, no one in the world can beat for the past 10 years - in 1994 on a boat with a Tohatsu engine with a capacity of 2.5 hp only. The Atlantic Ocean was crossed.
the beeping noise is three beeps followed by two beeps
Best to talk to your Suzuki outboard dealer - not only will they know what the code is, they will know what to do to fix the underlying issue. They can also hook up the Suzuki diagnostic system to see codes and figure out what is wrong. here
What made you think the motor "seemed a little hot" - how could you tell? Did you have an adequate telltale stream during your long trip? Do you usually have a strong stream?
