I bought this motor because there was no others that fit my needs. I have Basstender 11.3. It is designed to use a bow mounted trolling motor. I wanted a foot controlled motor. This was the only available choice. The shaft is a bit too short. On speeds 1-4 it works ok but when on full speed (5) it cavitates. Due to the length of the upper shaft, it is impossible to raise the motor high enough for storage. You only have a very few inches. I fish mostly at night and the direction arrow is NOT illuminated so it is difficult to see without rigging an additional light. On any speed above 3, steering is very touchy. If you try to turn more than just a few degrees, the motor will "whip" around and you will be unable to regain control without stopping the motor and re-aligning the direction first. Pretty much straight line only on speeds 4 and 5. I have learned to live with the problems because there are no other options for me at least at this price. Buy it if you must but, if you have another choice that will work, don't buy this motor. here
