I have a couple of questions related to towing a tube that I hope you experts can answer for me.

The twin ellipticals are very buoyant and the fastest hull Bennington has. You'll probably be all right pulling the Super Brawler with a couple of heavyweights. It might take a hard effort to turn the steering wheel, however. [links]
As a point of departure on the search for an answer; there is a rule of thumb that outboards consume about 1 gallon per hour for every 10 horsepower. That equates to roughly 2.5 gallons per hour at full throttle with a 25 HP motor. You will hardly ever run your motor at full throttle for an hour. here
So Yamaha is the winner. Reliability also goes to Yamaha. The reason being, while both the Yamaha and Suzuki engines are exceptional, Yamaha service center are more widespread. Product wise Suzuki wins the round as they are affordable then Yamaha. [links]
For example, a 150-horse engine will use about 15 gallons per hour. [links]
6, 16-year-old Emily Fedorko of Greenwich, Connecticut, fell off her tube as she and a friend were being towed by a motorized boat on Long Island Sound. When the boat, driven by another friend, 16, circled back to them, Emily was killed by the propeller of the boat’s outboard motor.

Just in case you feel like answering another question. Is the temp sensor separate or part of the prime valve? IF I remove the valve and put my thumb over the opening, can I bypass it and get it to start? Thank you for your time
No. Just replace in the same order as you remove it.

Do I need to mess with preloads and gear tooth contact (shims etc) ? Where can I get the tool to acess the prop shaft seal. I noticed the prop seems to have more than usual play. Is this an indicator of anything? [links]
I replaced a lot of seals for Mercury outboards. Mostly the prop shaft seals are bad but it looks like your drive shaft seals are gone. The seals are placed below the water pump housing. You can buy complete seal kits for 30-40 dollars. So you can replace al the bad seals. Not to difficult but takes some time. For removal of the prop shaft bearing carrier you need the special tool. Be aware that the thread of that carrier is left handed. [links]
Play in the prop is not the same as play in your drive shaft. I think the play you feel is just the prop. Just check if the prop is seated well.
