I just bought my first cat - a twenty foot Twin Vee. So far I have been amazed at the ride. Had her out the other day in a snotty wind and she cruised back, down swell, at 22 knots. No pounding, no turning, no bottoming out in the swell ahead. Just as I had heard, super smooth. We kept bracing for the slam or turn and it never happened. Like I said, I've been amazed. The deck area is HUGE! Super stable fishing platform. Mine is set up with a single Yamaha 115hp four stroke. I've heard they perform even better with twins and I am considering a re-power. I'll post some pics and updates soon. here

I would buy another cat again in a heartbeat unless I found the money for an ACB. here

The only con so far is dry storage. I will figure it out - just a nit-pick. [links]

I love my 18' Sea Cat and have had it out 40 miles on some days that probably are not good for any 20' or less boat but felt safe. Cats tend to be dryer then mono's and the ride in 1-2 wind chop is something to experience. Fuel economy is also excellant and usually have less draft. more

New: Look at twin vee 20,22,26 Sea Cat 22 (awesome boat) Pro SPorts 23 (9 ft wide) world Cat 23 (ouch! pricey) and Glacier Bay 26.
