As soon as the engine shuts down, turn the flywheel by hand or DISCONNECT the plug wire and turn the blade by hand to see if there is any compression. I have had several B&S engines that did not have enough valve clearance and when hot, the valve stem expands in length enough that the valve does not properly close. After cooling, engine will be OK. Also could be a bad condenser or the other faults listed above. [links]

Problems with the ignition coil can make an engine impossible to start when warm (or even stop running when it warms up), apparently this happens on motorbike engines quite often and is caused by a break in the HT coil. [links]
A few days ago, the blower just shuts off after about 20 mins of running. Bam! Just immediately cuts off during full throttle like a kill switch was thrown. It won't restart until it cools down. So, because of the nature of the engine problem, I suspected an electrical problem (possibly the ignition coil). I put an in-line spark plug light on it and run it again until it stalls. The light flashes the whole time, even after it cuts out (which tells me the coil is OK).
So today, because the ignition coil is giving spark, I turned to the fuel system. I rebuilt the carb entirely with a Walbro kit. I've done carb work many times, so I know it was installed correctly. I also checked and cleared all the fuel lines, put in a new fuel filter, cleaned the air filter, checked the plug gap, cleaned the spark arrestor, cleaned the gas cap vent, gave everything the once-over. here
I have a hand-me-down, piece-o'-crap Echo PB-500 backpack blower that has less than 20 hrs on it. I've owned it for 1 season. I'm pretty handy with these things, but I'm really stumped. Here's my story:
Fired it up and it runs great. at first. Good tone, powerful air, everything nice. Then, again, just like that, all of a sudden, like a kill switch was thrown, it stalls once it got up to operating temperature (full throttle, after about 4 mins). here
Or possibly the gas cap vent is blocked. Or possibly somebody has
adjusted the float level too low. Or somebody has fiddled the idle
mixture screw.
If the bike has sat for a year or more without running, the inside of
the carb will smell very sweet and will have green film or deposits on
the inside.
The most certain way to clean a carb is to dismantle it but that's best
done with a diagram so you can put it back together right. The idle jet
usually unscrews. here
