Aluminum fishing boats come in three basic styles: jon boats, Mod-V (or Modified-Vee), and Deep-V. Jon Boats have a very flat bottom and a squared-off or blunt bow and are especially popular for use on rivers and smaller lakes because they can operate in shallow water and get on plane quickly. Mod-V style boats also have low sides like a jon boat but have a sharper hull shape at the bow to better cut through choppy water, and the hull bottom may not be absolutely flat. A Deep-V aluminum fishing boat has a very traditional profile, with a bow that comes to a point, more vee shape to the bottom, and higher sides, all of which make these boats better suited to use on choppy water because the ride will be smoother and drier.

THIS IS A PERFECT STRIP MINE BOAT OR 9.9HP LAKE BOAT. Almost like new (kept in garage) 2010 Alumacraft 14' Crappie Jon Boat and Trailer with 2011 9.9 hp 4 cylinder suzuki electric start motor. Also has 40 lb thrust motor guide foot controlled bow mount trolling motor and an electric hand controlled (wireless) winch on trailer with bearing buddies on wheels, new full spare tire, trailer jack, three 12 volt deep cycle marine batteries, an Eagle Depth Finder with temp, a toho live well that has storage, and a switch operated air pump with a customized drain (with brass valve and drain hose). Trailer has side guides for easy loading/unloading of boat (along with the electric winch). The seats have been upgraded so that you sit low when operating the gas motor but have 6" extensions for fishing and operating the trolling motor in comfort. This boat is loaded! I purchased this boat in 2010 and used it less than a dozen times and fewer uses of the motor since I replaced it in 2011 with an electric start motor. Even though I have added many options to try to continue fishing, my health is such that I can no longer fish. My price is firm.
