First Light has been well-cared for by her previous and current owners. She was originally owned in Cape Coral, FL, when her second owner purchased her and moved her to New York. Her second owner was a surgeon, who spared no expense in caring for her with special attention to detail. When her current owner, an engineer and USCG Captain, purchased her in 2013, he followed suit. It is CLEAR that this boat has been maintained to near perfection, and you do NOT want to miss your chance to see her. The current owner sailed her down the East US Coast and around to Tampa Bay, where she currently resides. He is ready to move onto his next yachting adventure, and needs to find her a new home. This 2001 Lightwave 38 is designed by the world renowned Tony Grainger, and has to be one of the most intelligent "under 40-foot" cats ever designed or built. This explains why they were so popular in Australia, and why they cost much more to build than the typical production catamaran. She offers superior lightweight foam core construction with solid vinyl ester resin below the waterline. more

From 2004 to 2013, First Light had wintered on the hard under her cover. She was used lightly during the Summer seasons. First Light is Hull #9 in the very popular LW38 series built by Lightwave Yachts in Australia and boasts a voluminous and comfortable interior with tons of storage. Her smart salon design, excellent galley-down that remains open to the salon, her owner's berth, large standing shower, etc., set her apart from most other 38' catamaran options. She even sports excellent underwing clearance, so she will not only be faster underway (owner has sailed her at 21kts), but will not pound or bang like so many other catamarans.
