The best thing about Carteret Pier is that it’s just one part of the town’s Waterfront Park. Back on dry land, you’ve got everything you need to really make a day of it. There’s a putting green, picnic area, restrooms, playground – plenty to keep the family busy while you reel in trophy Stripers!
There’s more to enjoy here than the pier itself. Take a stroll around the Waterfront Park and paddle in the sea. Head down to Keyport Farmers Market to browse the stalls, then over to Fireman’s Fair to jump on a ride or pick up some food. That is, if you’re not saving space for a crab dinner!
But, before heading out in search of the perfect crabbing spot, there are a few things you should know, including some popular crabbing places near Atlantic City.
What could be better than fresh-caught blue crabs? Blue Crabs you’ve caught yourself. The waterways around Atlantic City are plentiful with these crustaceans. And a morning or afternoon crabbing with your kids is a fun family activity and something they will never forget. Just don’t tell them the crabs you caught are the same ones they are eating for dinner.

When you walk up our open stair case, on the Atlantic Avenue side of our store, to the second floor you come face to face with replicas of wildlife found swimming in and around the Absecon light house. When it’s time for you come back down to the first floor give our bear cave stairs, located behind our waterfall, a try. But, don’t forget to look up you’ll come eye to eye with black bears looking down on you.
