While Depression-era glass was and continues to be wildly popular as a collectors item, there are other types of glass that remain a hot commodity, be it for their color, shape, rarity, or material; Uranium glass (or Vaseline glass, as it’s also called, known for its petroleum jelly yellow color) is just as highly sought after, and perhaps even more intriguing than Depression glass because of its chemical makeup, as showcased in this video.
If you’re a collector or interested in starting a collection of Uranium glass, it can be hard to know how to start your search, especially when there are so many beautiful glass pieces out there. Below, we’ve got a few pointers to keep in mind when you come across pieces you’re not sure about.
Would you eat from something that glows under black light and is RADIOACTIVE.

Petroleum jelly (also called petrolatum) is a mixture of mineral oils and waxes, which form a semisolid jelly-like substance. This product was first discovered by Robert Augustus Chesebrough in 1859, when he noticed that oil workers would use a gooey jelly to heal their wounds and burns. He eventually packaged this jelly as Vaseline. The benefits of Vaseline come from its main ingredient petroleum, which helps seal your skin with a water-protective barrier and helps your skin heal and retain moisture.

Anyone who has experienced chafing has probably reached for the Vaseline tub! Because it is a good skin barrier, it works well to keep body parts from rubbing together. It also works in the same way to prevent skin peeling.

Vaseline is a very useful substance in situations where something is stuck fast. For example, if a ring is stuck on a finger or bracelet isn't budging from a wrist, add some Vaseline to create a slick and slippery surface to ease off the offending item. here
Disconnect car battery terminals, give them a clean with a wire brush, and then reconnect and smear with Vaseline to create a barrier from the elements and stave of corrosion. Do this is as the weather starts to take a turn for the worse around the onset of winter. more
Vaseline (the most known brand of petroleum jelly) is the best deal in skin care. It’s $5 a jar and it works great as a moisturizer, if your skin gets dry. Place it on skin or lips after moistening and it works great. The thickness and greasiness can be a turnoff, so you can use something with a different texture that, though no more effective, will set you back about $20 (for Aveeno) or more for fancy specialty products (e.g., Clinique, Kiehl’s).
You don’t need to exfoliate. Your skin is a self-exfoliating organ.
“But wait,” you might ask. “All the celebrities and beautiful people use these products, so why shouldn’t I?” Most beautiful people are beautiful despite, not because of, all the products they use. In fact, they are able to market things because of their beauty. Not to mention they present only their best selves to the public (and don’t forget about the wonders of Photoshop -- no product can mimic that tool). Actors, actresses, and models are successful and elevated with fame because of their genetic gifts. And, we can’t change our genetics (at least not yet). here
