Ready to go and ideal for exploring Northwest waters or further. Economical 45 Volvo Penta 3 cylinder turbo charged diesel (1200 engine hours) easily driven to 6+ knots. Warm and roomy cabin has 6’3” headroom. Very seaworthy and comfortable to sail, motorsail or spend time aboard at the marina. Current owners have consistently maintained and improved Seafeather since 2003 and seek to pass stewardship of this seakindly vintage vessel to adventurous spirits who appreciate the romance and reality of wooden sailboats. Complete list of sails and equipment and additional photos available on request. $20000. John and Diane Sweetman email: [email removed] phone: 206-617-2217/2226 History: The L-36 was designed by Bill Lapworth in the 1950’s as a boat that could handle both bluewater racing/sailing and family cruising. This rare boat marks the end of the production wooden boat era. The last wooden hulls were built in the early 1960’s when the L-36 became the predecessor for the very successful Cal-40 series of racing/cruising sailboats. Seafeather is listed on the L-36 directory as hull number 27 (formerly Sealark) built in 1962 at Taylor Boatyard in Vancouver, BC, Canada although other records indicate that she was built at Chapman and Kalijean Boat Builders in Newport Beach, CA. Her records indicate that she won the Transpac race once and the Newport to Ensenada race twice.

Antique / Vintage 1940 Hacker-craft speed boat. This vessel has 18 coats of varnish, original wood plank bottom, and there is no rot anywhere on the vessel. The engine is an updated M7 engine from 1947. (not the original engine, but as close to OEM as could be located) It has been updated with a 12 volt electronic ignition. The engine runs great. No smoke or noise. She flies across the lake, at 3200 RPM! The boat is in the water now. No leaks. It is equipped with 2 operational bilge pumps, one is automatic. The boat comes with the trailer. This boat has been in family since 1959. It spent most of its years on Mullet Lake in Northern Michigan. My grandfather owned this boat since he bought it in the 1950's. His grandson, (my brother) owns it currently. I am listing it for him. He is the seller. His phone number will be sent to any serious inquirers and you can work out the specifics. Many extra engine parts are included from the engine upgrade last year. Also the ORIGINAL manuals and other items are included. Photos are attached. The boat is approx. 19' long and with an approx. 6.5' - 7' beam. The exact measurements can be provided if needed, but at this point these are approximations. We have several videos of the boat taken recently under power which can be sent to serious inquirers. The seller, (my brother) phone/text number is noted under the shipping and payments tab, and sellers payments instructions. We have had a "buyer" back out recently so if you have any interest, a $500 deposit is IMMEDIATELY required upon your "buy it now" or our acceptance of your "best offer". Please do NOT bid or buy if you are not immediately ready to send a deposit via pay pal. We are looking for a serious buyer. Full payment is upon pick up and in CASH within 1 week of acceptance or negotiated time frame. Do not pay the balance via Pay Pal. Must be in CASH upon pick up. The boat is currently on a small lake in Highland, in Oakland County, MI but will be pulled shortly and trailered. It can be launched upon pick up for your try out. Up for auction is a completely restored Century Imperial Sportsman wood boat. The hull number of this boat is #D57247. This boat was a “barn find” originally located in rural Illinois. It still has its original African mahogany planking that has been completely stripped down (see photo) to the bare wood, sanded, stained and varnished (9 coats). New vinyl seats and trim was professionally installed. It is a great entry level boat for anyone wanting to start enjoying and collecting wooden boats. The trailer it sits on is in great shape with new bearings and tongue jack. The outboard motor that has been matched to it is a professionally restored 1969 Mercury Merc 350, 35HP engine. It had a brand new black paint finish put on at the same time it was restored. The boat is available for local pick-up only in zip code 60525. Please e-mail me if you have any questions. [links]

We are boating family with 3 generations of experience in the boating industry and boat racing. John Sellner Started it all off with his first boat in the mid 1930s with a home made boat he and his father built in Faribault MN. John spent his childhood racing around on Cannon Lake and continued to build better and faster boats. He started racing in the 1940s and continued into the mid 60s. He took a few years off of racing to raise his family but never gave up having to have the fastest boat around. He owned his own marine store and later worked at several dealers in Minnesota selling boats. John was one of the charter members of Twin City Power Boat Association. He has been an active member in the organization since its start in 1964. He continued to race up until age 82. He continued to follow racing and support his sons Jim and Jerry and his Grandson David and Granddaughter Katie in their racing careers. John has personally owned over 200 boats in his lifetime.

Jim and Jerry grew up on the water and spent most of their childhoods boating on the St. Croix, Minnesota and Mississippi rivers. They started by driving dad's boats then bought their own to go run with John. Jerry started Outboard racing in 1983 and raced both circle and Drag boats up until the 2010 season, winning high points nearly every year throughout his racing career. He won several National championships and set a world record in 2006. Jim started racing in 2000 and his kids David and Katie soon followed. Team Sellner dominated the V-bottom race classes in APBA (American Power Boat Association) and TCPBA (Twin City Power Boat Association).
