Ok I've looked there also and still no serial numbers. What is the difference between an a,b,c or d motor? I thought it was a, d. But on one side of the motor it has in raised printing "Volvo B 20" would that indicate that it's a b? [links]
B20 is only the block number, doesn't have anything to do with the all the bolt on accessories on that block, or the letters after the 130.

Would like help with identifying the following Volvo Penta drive.
You are correct, it is one number short. There is a metal tag on the drive, port side, kind of hidden by the trim cylinder. It will give you the serial number along with the model number and gear ratio. more
It's not a DPS-A drive, they didn't come out till '06. more
