Check the connector at the oil pressure sensor for any corrosion signs and make sure that the wires look good. more
Inside a car engine, there are often many metal chips, carbon deposits, and other debris. The oil filter plays an important role in filtering all these contaminants and preventing them from entering the engine. here
Another scenario is that there is maybe no problem with the sensor or low oil pressure. It may actually just be a problem with the instrument cluster. [links]
To create an oil pressure in the engine, the engine needs to pressurize oil. If there is no oil to pressurize, it will be impossible for the oil pump to properly do its job.
Internet search "volvo b8444s valve cover gasket replacement", pretty much every single V8 will require this job at some point. Gets mighty warm under that hood, heat cycle a few thousand times over 10+ years, flexible things will harden up.
Depending on mileage, you'll probably be wanting to think about the serp belt and all the rotating parts (idler, tensioner) sometime soon if they're still original.

The rear bank starts to leak before the front in my personal experience. As it gets worse, oil may leak onto the alternator and add insult to injury. Full seal kit is sold on FCP, I would add PCV and cross hose plus injector O-rings plus maybe a fuel pressure sensor.
That being said, there is still a slow leak, about a quart every 2+ months. enough to keep a puddle in my driveway. It doesn't appear to be coming from the valve cover gaskets. I am weary its the rear main seal.. more

It was a pain, took a long couple of days to get it all back together. here
It does this from a location nearly opposite of the breather location. This connection creates a slight vacuum in the crankcase that draws gasses in a direction from the breather into the intake manifold and through the PCV valve, where they are re-burned with a fresh charge of air. [links]
In naturally aspirated engines, the PCV valve connects the crankcase to the intake manifold. here
We’ve received countless calls from Volvo owners unsure whether they have a PCV breather system problem or an oil sludge issue. We've put together a quick guide explaining how the Volvo PCV breather system works , symptoms of a clogged breather system, and how to inspect it. Replacing the engine’s breather system is the ideal when compared to an entire engine swap, so it's important to service the system ASAP when an issue is found.
A PCV (positive crankcase ventilation) breather system is designed to regulate hazardous fumes from your vehicle. As your engine runs, combustion gases escape from the combustion chamber, finding their way into the crankcase of your engine. This unused combustion gas also referred to as "blow-by," can be a major cause of smog. A PCV system prevents pollutants from escaping into the environment, and vehicle manufacturers started fitting engines with a PCV valve to ensure that the gas remains contained within your vehicle. more
