Permaseal terminals, crimp on with the glue filled shrink tube already attached.

They my have been heat shrink sleeves on those connectors, not just ordinary plastic. [links]
I use wirenuts pre-filled with high temp grease.

If you are wiring a boat trailer for boat trailer electric brakes the following boat trailer wiring diagram has two more circuits.
