Question #5: Tell us about the Market America Cashback Program? What makes the program unique versus other Cashback sites such as Ebates or Fat Wallet? here
JR Ridinger is one of those mentors for me. As you’ll read below JR was just a normal guy w/ a dream – he took an idea, worked his tail off for years, dreamed BIG, associated himself with amazingly talented people, and built one of the most successful companies in the world. The company JR founded, Market America, is now one of the top 100 internet retailers in North America and he’ll tell you he’s only gotten started.! I love it.
Of course, I am inspired by icons of technology and industry that changed the world—people like Gates, Jobs, Edison and Einstein. My dad was a famous high school football coach, teacher and a great mentor. He taught me never to do anything “half-assed,” and to think positively, never to give up and that perseverance was the key to success. His philosophy of life is to find the good in people. here
2. We combine real “people power” with the best in online shopping technology to better serve the customer. Our model truly pushes the envelop in regards to the high-tech, high-touch concept. Every customer has a Shop Consultant that knows the site, the customer’s needs and is there to assist them like a personal shopper in finding the best deals. We are focused on customer retention, satisfaction and lifetime value.
Question #4: Despite being the CEO of one of the largest and most successful Internet retailers in the United States, you seem to have an extraordinary work-life balance. Please share your secrets for maintaining that balance. here
In my opinion, the company products aren’t terrible per se, but they aren’t special either.
However, I believe making money with Market America is equally difficult and risky as getting to the moon!
It is tough to make retail profits by selling Market America products, e.g., Isotonix. [links]

Legally they seem to be abiding by their compensation plan if you can decipher it. But the reality for most distributors is that you won't be able to earn a full or part time income. They obviously have some people that do but it's definitely not the norm.
I never joined Market America but I was introduced to it and it was called “The Plan”. I thought it was bizarre and very cultish. Two friends of mine separated over this. They were roomates. One of them got involved and joined MA and ended up trying to push everyone into it. The guy previously started up a successful young adults group at a church a while back. But after joining MA, it became a recruiting ground. The pastor frowned on this. Pretty soon, the young adults group diminished. Other young adults groups used to joke and call the event Market America Worship Hour. more
As with every event, our energy has gone up another notch which we will use to fuel us into productive activity week to week. Thank you so much and congratulations on a well executed hybrid event that allowed so many people to attend who could not or would not attend in person at this time! The list of reasons for attending virtually is a long list, many of which are very valid to consider as we move forward in this NEXT CHAPTER. Cheers to NEW BEGINNINGS!
This was an amazing event. Thank you for all of your hard work to give us such a well-organized and inspirational conference! yes, we are tuning to a new chapter with new heights. Stay safe and we hope to see you all next year! [links]
We found much strength in having time to bond over various conversations at lunch, dinner and evening games and discussions instead of trying to find everyone in a large crowd and feeling like we were all racing from one place to another. The feedback was everyone loved the short segments and really got much out of the panels where we could learn from hearing different perspectives on the same topic (i.e. different approaches, etc). Having the next generation of leaders speaking, including a refreshing younger health professional (Gary Brecka) brought so much energy and inspiration to the event! And we cannot thank you enough for sharing the recorded Follow-up zoom from Elizabeth’s team – this really seemed to have tremendous impact on our team, esp with the follow-up live panel of them joining you on stage. We really needed this event as a team with all the challenges and struggles of the past 6 months since MAWC – as you always say, the answer to everything is to have new people with you – it is truly the spark to our business!
Thanks for the amazing convention. Here is one of my new groups in Georgia. more
You and Jr are a treasure. Know that. I can tell you my Dad would have loved you guys. Jr reminds me of him, an innovator and visionary. You, right there with them. When Jr referenced the phone as us holding a mainframe in our hands that hit. Back in 1960, my Dad had the company he ran (he was 35 at the time, the youngest president of a domestic insurance company) buy one of the first “Watsons”. He saw the direction the future was going and capitalized on it. Mr. Watson came to Montpelier (Vermont) to meet my Dad and thank him for his belief in this new technology. Great minds think to what is next. more
