Hi, I am local & am interested in your boat. I have one similar to yours & between the two I could restore one properly. Is this still available & if so I would like to come & take a look at, If possible

Hello,
Are the hull and stringers in good condition. Does it have a Berkley pump? I’m lookin for an 18 Sleekcraft Rebel to restore. I owned one in 1975. It was a 74 model. Goal is to totally restore to original. Do you have the engine cover as well? I would appreciate if you could send me more detailed pictures. It’s a total restore so my main concerns are to see if it is as close to my original as possible. Main thing is model, the 455 and the Berkley pump. If its somewhat structurally sound i’ll Buy it. I can have it shipped to Louisiana.
Would appreciate the info.
Thank you

yes,. as I was saying, west marine , over on industrial blvd.
there is an older guy , that works there,. he made a new windshield for my 1979 sleek, came with all new hardware, and a gasket,.
excellent quality
I see , from your sleek photos, yours is a bow rider,
that mustve been done, at a shop?
I am thinkin about having mine converted to an open bow,.
can you tell where that work was done?
and price?? here

The Sleekcraft venture succeeded. Expenditures for promotion increased from $6,800 in 1970 to $126,000 in 1974. Gross sales rose from $331,000 in 1970 to over $6,000,000 in 1975.

The red and yellow hull (Travis) was raced heavily in AZ/CA and did pretty well. I remember one year Travis blew his cowling off of his 2.6GT and borrowed our 150GT cowling for Parker (my dad has the picture of Travis during the time trial/qualifications), pretty cool seeing a "150" running 105+ racing. I don't think that cowling ever got used to running only 70 on our HydraSport bassboat after that. [links]

I could go on forever on this ol warhorse, but I won't. I want to SELL her and make sure she gets a good home (someone to RESTORE her and maybe RACE her again. I don't have the time, and energy to do it right.

The Aristocrat started out at 900-950 pounds dry, if I recall correctly. The basic SST (non-race), may have been 50 pounds lighter, but nothing appreciable.

Riverratt, thanks for getting your corrections posted and your boat looks terrific. Most of my SleekCraft experience came from owning a '78 Aristocrat/2.4 combo in '84, my father's '77 23' Executive, and drooling over Sleek catalogues in the early years as a little kid. They had a pretty extensive product line, if I recall correctly. A decade later. I remember visiting the IMTEC show in Chicago for a couple years in the late eigthies, around about the time company made its foray into the offshore market. more

Travis was a mechanic for Desert Boats ( Tempe, AZ near the river bottom), and was being sponsored by Desert Boats with motors (2.6GT Johnsons(He did run some 2.4EFIs as well)). [links]
