This thing with the arm pressure was a further detail that we discussed on shore afterward. here

Than is right on. I watched Kerry McClure ski a few weeks ago and thought she did an excellent job at it. You could see her hips change rather dramatically right after the second wake. more

1) The exact thing he did with me on shore was to say "give me this arm" pointing to my leading arm (right one going toward one ball). Relieving the pressure on that arm resulted in a significant rotation of my hips to more square to the rope, which is exactly where he wanted me to be to be able to ride the arc outbound while maintaining connection to the handle. here

A LOT. (At least in my case.)

Well, it would be no surprise if I still do not get this concept at all. more

The trailing arm is part of the vehicle's suspension system. When these components wear out or become damaged, the suspension becomes misaligned, which can cause the tires to shift its allocation of weight to the inside or outside edges. If this occurs, the tire will create more heat on the inside or outside edge of the tires because of the misaligned suspension. Worn out trailing arm bushings are known to cause the suspension to be out of alignment and lead to premature tire wear on the inner or outer edge.

The bushings absorb minor vibrations, shocks, and noise from the road to make for a smoother drive. The trailing arm bushings do not require much maintenance, but can wear out due to excessive use, driving on bumpy roads frequently or due to the elements the vehicle drives in frequently. There are a few common causes of worn out trailing arm bushings that include:

A bushing’s job is to provide cushion and a pivot point for metallic arms and supporting joints. When the bushings wear out, metal tends to "clank" against other metallic components; which can cause a "clunking" sound to appear from under the vehicle. This sound is typically noticed when you drive over speed bumps, or driving onto a driveway. Clunking sounds can also be an indicator of other bushings in the front suspension system such as the steering system, u-joints, or stabilizer bar. Due to this fact, it's a good idea to have a professional mechanic inspect your vehicle if you hear this type of sound, before you have it repaired. [links]

Suspension components have evolved significantly since the introduction of the leaf spring several decades ago. Today's modern suspension is engineered to withstand wear and tear that cars, trucks, and SUVs dish up on a daily basis. At the root of the suspension on most vehicles is the trailing arm, which aligns the pivot point of a body with the suspension by way of utilizing a series of arms and bushings for support. Under many circumstances, the trailing arm bushings can withstand tremendous abuse and last for a very long time. However, they can be damaged for multiple reasons and when they become damaged or worn out, will display a few common symptoms that will alert the driver that it's time to have them replaced. here

If you visit a tire shop or have your oil changed and the mechanic tells you that the tires are wearing more on the inside or outside of the tire, on either side or both sides of the vehicle, have a professional mechanic inspect your vehicle for an issue with the trailing arm bushings. When the bushings are replaced, you'll have to have the suspension adjusted again to be aligned properly. here

A car’s suspension system is complicated, especially for those who aren’t mechanically inclined. It gets even more complicated when you consider that there are many different types of suspension systems, each with their own types of issues to watch out for. Read on to learn more about trailing arm suspensions systems and the issues to watch out for.

A trailing arm is part of a vehicle’s trailing-arm suspension system. If your vehicle uses a different type of suspension system such as leaf spring, double wishbone, or multi-link suspension, you don’t need to worry about it!

Trailing arms themselves are fairly resilient and don’t often wear out. However, the bushings can wear out or get damaged over time. If these are not replaced it can result in damage to the actual trailing arms. [links]

The bushing or ball joint can deteriorate and stir many problems. A worn out or damaged control arm is also not safe for the car. more

These symptoms are often hard to detect, especially when you have little knowledge about the mechanism of a motor vehicle. For this reason, it is often necessary to follow the maintenance schedule. Having the car diagnosed by a mechanic at least once a year could help to spot many issues that would otherwise go unnoticed. [links]

The estimated cost of control arm replacement could be anything between $150 and $390 depending on the extent of damage, labor costs, and a few other things. There is no need to replace both if only one arm is damaged. But when one is failing there’s a high chance that the other one will also fail soon. You may need to replace the stabilizer bar links and bushings as well, given that the mechanic finds them in deteriorated conditions. Always remember to do the wheel alignment after the replacement of the worn out components. It may cost another $100, but this repair job is absolutely necessary to ensure driving safety and avoid sudden failure of the vehicle.
