Air bubbles in a fuel line can lead to stalling, hiccuping or refusal to start. Keep your fuel lines free of air to help keep your car running smoothly. here

Furthermore, what is airlock in a car? Air lock. An air lock (or vapor lock) is a restriction of, or complete stoppage of liquid flow caused by vapour trapped in a high point of a liquid-filled pipe system. The gas, being less dense than the liquid, rises to any high points. more

To start the process, locate the manual fuel pump primer on the engine. This may be a small lever you pump up and down, or a plunger-type you push in. Open up the bleed screw on top of the secondary fuel filter, and start pumping the primer pump. You will likely see both fuel and bubbles coming out of the bleed screw.

To purge air from the low-pressure side of the fuel system, open fuel-line unions and bleed ports downstream of the pump, one at a time, beginning with those closest to the pump, and continue pumping until fuel, and not air, runs out. here

As the description says the air pocket is in the pump impeller cavity. This location is the least common and not likely when using Evans.

Normally the OEM will have a specific bleeding procedure to follow eliminating the air. here

Installing any engine coolant is a fairly simple process and for many is a DIY process. However, allowing air to get trapped in the cooling system can have negative effects on the overall performance of your cooling system.

The simplest remedy for an air lock is cycling the system. Start the engine run it up to temperature, shut it off, allow the engine to cool and repeat as required. Normally 1 or 2 heat cycles will show the level change and topping of indicates the air has moved though the system. If replacing the thermostat drill 1 or 2 1/8th" holes to allow the air to easily move though the thermostat. Most thermostats have a provision for this but it's usually very small or blocked with what's known as a ‘giggle pin’. [links]

Leave inside faucets open and allow these to run until the gurgling/spitting sound is no loner heard. Once the gurgling/spitting stops in all faucets the lines are free of air and all faucets may be closed.

Air accumulation in water pipes can create loud clanging and banging sounds as water is turned on and off. This situation can be easily corrected by bleeding the air from the pipes. Air bleeding is a simple procedure requiring few tools and little plumbing experience but can result in improved water flow and a home that is significantly more quiet.

When it cools, a vacuum is formed that allows atmospheric pressure to push the fluid back into the system. If there isn't enough fluid in the tank, air is pushed into the cooling system instead of coolant. A slightly low coolant level shouldn't cause much harm, though it may cause the car to overheat. here

Pump Air Lock This is due to flow being completed restricted; the impeller is spinning in air not liquid. The air lock can also happen while driving (suction side leak) the temperature gauge will peg than come back to normal than peg again quickly. more
