Ambulances have been seen a few times in the anime. Two ambulances appeared in A Chansey Operation. Team Rocket, disguised as paramedics, drove an ambulance in The Chikorita Rescue. An ambulance appeared again in a flashback in To Find a Fairy Flower!, when Florence was taken to the Calanthe Town hospital by ambulance. Another one featured in The Clumsy Crier Quiets the Chaos!, where Team Rocket were again disguised as ambulance drivers. Another ambulance was shown in A Giga Battle with Mega Results!, this time driven by Nurse Joy who used the ambulance to drive Ash and his friends to the Pokémon Center.

In Pokémon Sun and Moon, ferries are the main mode of transportation used to travel between the islands of Alola, as well as to Aether Paradise. Hau'oli City, Heahea City and Malie City each have their own ferry terminals. [links]
In The First Day of the Rest of Your Life!, Serena saw on the news that the residents of Lumiose City were still recovering from injuries and decided to ask Professor Sycamore to help host a Pokémon Showcase event. Serena, Shauna, and even Jessilee put up a collaboration performance which made the residents smile and enjoy themselves. By witnessing how everyone started dancing along and smiling, Serena realized how much she actually loves performing and wants to do more. The next day, after saying goodbye to her mother, Ash asked Serena for a battle after seeing her lost in thoughts. Serena agreed as Ash said by battling, she would be able to decide what's next for her. During the battle, Serena was able to work well with Braixen and use her techniques well against Ash's Pikachu. Ash called off the battle and encouraged Serena that she always has her Pokémon by her side and he would be rooting for her. After the battle, Serena called Palermo, making her final answer to reject Palermo's offer. Serena told her seeing how everyone was smiling during her performance earlier that made her want to travel more and make more people smile like Aria and improve her skills. Palermo advised her to compete in Pokémon Contests in Hoenn and Serena happily agreed. After that, she announced to the group that she will be going to visit other regions to further develop her skills as a Performer, starting with Hoenn. here
In A Showcase Debut!, she made her debut as a Pokémon Performer in the Coumarine City Pokémon Showcase Rookie Class, along with Shauna and Jessie. However, during the Theme Performance, Fennekin tripped over a bow that Serena had decorated her with. This eliminated her from the competition, and she watched as Shauna went on to win the Showcase. Although Serena first acted like she took the loss well, in private she was very upset. Early in the next morning, she walked out to a pier with Fennekin and Pancham, finally releasing her bottled up feelings and began to cry inconsolably. Having comfort and reassurance from her two partners, she drew scissors from her backpack and cut her hair to her shoulders after a reflection on her journey so far. Later, she donned a new outfit, featuring the ribbon she received from Ash, signifying her resolve.
In Day Three Blockbusters!, Shauna informed Serena about Pokémon Showcases and told her that she was planning on becoming a Pokémon Performer, and this inspired Serena to become one as well. In Dreaming a Performer's Dream!, Serena witnessed her first Pokémon Showcase. She saw a performance by Aria, the current Kalos Queen, and witnessed a wild Pancham causing a ruckus on stage. Later, outside, the Pancham stole Ash and Clemont's belongings. Serena managed to track Pancham down and witnessed how he put on a performance with no one around. This made her realize Pancham loved performing and wanted to show this to everyone. With this in mind she announced to her friends she wanted to catch it. Battling with Fennekin, she managed to weaken and successfully catch it. After that, Serena gave Pancham a pair of her favorite sunglasses.
In Party Dancecapades!, Serena and Eevee attended a dance party hosted by Monsieur Pierre with Clemont and Bunnelby as their partners. She was upset, because she couldn't go dancing with Ash. But when she battled alongside Ash against Miette and James, her Eevee began to evolve into Sylveon. more
It reappeared in A Showcase Debut!, during a flashback.
Thanks to a fan translation shared on Reddit, Pokémon fans were able to learn more about the emotional end to the Pokémon XY&Z anime, and the moment that Serena says goodbye to Ash and Pikachu. As Serena prepares to leave Kalos, she tells Ash that she wants to be more like him, before stepping onto the escalator in farewell. However, she turns and dashes back up the steps as viewers get a slow-motion scene of Ash and Serena's feet as she goes up on her toes. When she pulls away, she is blushing, and Ash looks awestruck, while Clemont seems embarrassed in the background. After translating an interview in AnimeStyle magazine with Yajima Tetsuo, a director of Pokémon XY&Z, it is revealed that a kiss implied to happen during the scene.
Pokémon's protagonist Ash Ketchum may finally find love with Serena thanks to the events of the anime XY&Z, leaving room for a future relationship.
Ash and Serena's relationship starts out primarily one-sided. Serena remembers Ash from their first encounter as children at professor Oak's Pokémon camp, where he lends her his handkerchief to protect her knee after she has fallen down. Serena keeps the handkerchief for years after, hoping for a chance to return it to him. When she sees him on TV one night at the start of the Pokémon XY anime, she sets out to meet with him, not knowing how it will alter the course of either of their lives. more
Ash and Serena grow very close through their adventures in Pokémon's Kalos region. While Ash appears oblivious to Serena's feelings, Serena continues to find her own feelings deepening, and starts to make bold changes in her life as he inspires her to try harder. Ash begins to develop his own personal feelings for Serena, even giving her a special gift in episode 59 of Pokémon XY, when they are both beside the pledging tree. The gift he gives her is a special blue ribbon that she then wears as part of her outfit for the rest of XY&Z starting in Episode 60. [links]
While there have been many characters and relationships presented in the Pokémon anime, events in XY&Z may have been a game-changer for Pokémon's charismatic hero, Ash Ketchum. During the events of XY&Z, Ash travels with Clemont, Bonnie, and Serena as they explore the Kalos region. However, Ash's relationship with Serena takes a romantic turn as she struggles with her crush on him, and Ash slowly becomes interested in Serena beyond friendship.
While Serena hasn't returned in recent seasons, there is hope within the Pokémon fandom that the relationship between herself and Ash will be revisited in future episodes of the anime, or movies. It's hard to say what the future could be for Ash and Serena, as the Pokémon anime doesn't usually age the main characters, or cover what happens when they grow up. However there is always a chance that Pokémon fans will have a chance to see Serena again in future cameo appearances, and hopefully add to the relationship between herself and Ash.
