I'm doing some maintenance on my 2008 F150TXR. I purchased a kit from a Yamaha dealer for the oil change, it included 5 US quarts of Yamaha 4 stroke oil, a filter, and new oil bolt drain gasket copper o-ring. The Yamaha part number is LUB-MRNMR-KT-10 for F150. My factory service manual says 5.5 US quarts with oil filter change? After the oil change I ran the engine for 5 min and checked the dip-stick level and it's in the middle of Low and High range. But according to FSM I'm short 1/2 quart. Can someone tell me if I'm good to go? I found it strange the kit for my specific engine was short.

Also I wanted to change the fuel filter element cartridge (filter model 6P3) and cannot unscrew the plastic bowl? I have completely removed the filter itself from the engine, and using a large wrench to hold the plastic bowl, tried to unscrew the top with no luck. Is there a special tool that slides over the bowl, and locks into the gear tooth like grooves at the top, to unscrew the bowl? The FSM shows this as a separate ring, but it's all one molded piece on this filter unit. This is the first time the filter has tried to be removed since the engine was new last fall.
