It is the first Ranger in a long time that I have driven that will actually lift the nose and run "clean" without having to overtrim the motor. I have been in James Caldemeyer's new Z520 with a Merc 250 ProXS and it will literally fly with two of us and a heavy load. here

I remember going out with you in that bullet on hot summmer day and you hitting 101. You are about the only person I trust to drive WOT on those boats Ken.
My friend has a Stratos 201 Pro that he just installed a new HiJacker manual 6" jackplate on. The motor has been mounted and we are ready to water test. Can anyone confirm via this photo if we are in the ballpark for the initial test? Or, should the motor be lowered more? Better yet, where on the actual boat hull, should the cavitation plate line up? I think it would be money well spent . Especially a hydraulic jack plate. Jakplates are more than to just gain MPH. You would be surprised how much more responsive and how much better the boat would ride And handle with one.. With a hydraulic jack plate you can adjust the actual motor height instead of just the trim range. Meaning when it gets rough you'll be able to get a better ride out of it. Also if you fish shallow water you'd benefit from it. Call ranger and see what size they suggest for that hull where you won't go to big and void your hull warranty. There's no way I would own a boat that didn't have a jack plate on it.. I'd about guarantee that when you have one put on you'll be wishing you had, had one sooner. Bobs and atlas are 2 good hydraulic jackplates.
