The boat is heavy and I haven't ever ridden in one similiarly set up to have as a comparable. Searching several sites has not produced enough info to make me comfortably keep or go bigger beacuse it is a marine application and most info is for cars.
I just purchased a stock(as far as I know) 454 in a 1992 21 foot carrera bow rider with berkeley jet drive. I removed a 750 Holley that had major issues and bought what I thought was a 750 edelbrock used. Turns out it was a 600. I went ahead and ran it too see how it would work. The boat idled and ran well with the exception of a noticeable bog when throttling up to get on plane and it would only hit 4000/4200 wide open.
No plans for racing, or engine mods. I just want all I can get from stock. What would you suggest I run?
