If an engine is a 1990 or older model, frequent inspections of all fuel-system components are advised to identify any signs of leakage, softening, hardening, swelling or corrosion. If any sign of leakage or deterioration is observed, replacement of the affected components is required before further operation. [links]

Anyway, these are my thoughts.
Re: Enricher valve / choke solinoid more
I posted a problem that I was having with my 1983 90hp Mercury outboard engine about one month ago. My engine started up no problem and ran with muffs no problem but under power the engine would stall when engage. Some nice fella said to clean my carbs and the problem went away. The motor was running great for about a week then back to the same problem but I did notice that the enricher valve was leaking gas alot could this be my problem or is this something different all together ? I really don't know what to do I have changed all gas lines on the motor and all leading to the new tank I put in last year. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
