This is probably a really silly question, but where is the serial number located on my mariner 40hp 2 stroke engine? I have looked on the clamp, but the plate that i assume once had it on is missing. Is the number stamped into the engine itself anywhere under the cowling? more

That's first one I have seen that actually has my engine's range on it. And it is correct. It's Canadian engine, which usually isn't on the lists.
