As you make your way up the side of the mountain you will find a tunnel leading into the waterfall. Marmore’s Falls (or Cascata dell Marmore) is the world’s tallest man-made waterfall at an incredible 165m! There are 3 sections of the waterfall, the highest being the top one. Making Marmore’s Fall even more incredible is that it was constructed during Roman times and dates back to 271 BC! Guess building the Rome Coliseum for the gladiators weren’t the only things keeping the Romans busy!
Situated in Ontario, Canada and New York, USA, Niagara Falls is undoubtedly the world’s most famous waterfall. At 51 meters in height, it is certainly not the largest waterfall in terms of height. However, this magnificent waterfall has an impressive average flow rate of 1,834 cubic meters per second.

Waterfalls make up some of the most visited and best known natural tourist attractions around the world. Stunningly beautiful, it’s little wonder that people travel from far and wide to enjoy the breathtaking natural attractions that are world renowned for their magnificence. The owner of the site adjacent to the falls on the Oregon City side of the river, the Blue Heron Paper Company, has gone out of business and the valuable acreage is now in bankruptcy proceedings, to be auctioned off later this month.
Metro, a regional governing entity, will be putting in a bid for the site, which delights me tremendously because I believe they would have the ability to balance private development goals with appropriate public stewardship of access to the falls. It is a rare gem of a site that abuts a natural water feature that should be a national treasure, open to everyone. It is fascinating to me that so few people in the region even know that we are sitting on such a rare and valuable natural resource. [links]

However, reasonable doubt has been expressed over the measurement of the Angel Falls, especially their overall height.
