I have an 89 v4 let me know how it goes for you!
Thanks for reply, however its not exactly what i need.
Both cylinders exactly the same, super low, indicate that head gasket, especially since it was overheated.. here
The main difference (you likely know), is the piston has a notch to keep the piston rings from rotating on the piston. If they did, they'd catch a port and destroy the engine..
so far it could be a head gasket and water pump, then find out what is going on with spark going away. more
For my Briggs, once I had the head off, there were still original hone marks on the cylinder with absolutely NO scoring. [links]
by pulling the head you will find out what is wrong with the cylinder/pistons//rings and if you break bolts doing that then it will give you an idea on how far you will have to tear it down to fix.
no cost except time to take apart

Fitting a spark plug isn’t a difficult job but some engines will be more difficult than others, V6 and 8 can be challenging as real-estate is usually tight when the engine is fitted to a sedan.
Plugs with gaskets are pretty obvious, they’ll have an loose, but attached washer an the thread end. The washer is known as a crush washer and as the plug is tightened, the washer deforms to the shape of the cylinder head, making a perfect gas seal. here
The tapered plug is, well, tapered. As the plug doesn’t have a washer to crush, it requires less torque to tighten, make sense? here
Spark plugs, should be torqued to manufacturers specifications. However, it is possible to tighten the plugs satisfactorily without a torque wrench.
Too much torque can damage the plug too. Over-tightening can easily cause stretching which can split the threads making extraction difficult. Internal spark leaking cracking of the insulator. more
I improvise with some vacuum hose attached to the end of the plug, helps getting into those awkward rear cylinders. I use a magnet or claw to grab the plug from the cylinder, the rubber seal inside the plug socket does the job pretty well when new, but my tools have been around the block, if you know what I mean.
