For a propeller to best satisfy particular boating needs, the engine must be attached to the transom at the correct height. Over the past 30 years, industry standards for transom height have been developed: 15″ for “short shaft” engines, 20″ for “long shaft” engines, and 25″ for “extra-long shaft” engines. here

Subsequently, question is, How do you know if your outboard is too high? Too high usually results in low water pressure, prop letting go in turns, or lack of bow lift are usually the telltale signs. Sometimes porpoising is caused by too much bow lift and dropping the motor will give it more bite and make it worse. more

Outboard manufacturers are now recommending that engines be mounted higher than the old standard, provided boat speed justifies it. In fact, a growing number of boat builders are building their faster outboard-powered boats with transoms 1″ to 3″ above the standard height (usually 20″).

The cavitation plate should be nearly even with or slightly below the bottom. For a short shaft the vertical measurement of the transom should be about 15 inches.

Best practices always win, making the standard mounting practice the most ideal, especially for new boaters. In the standard mounting, the pontoon’s bottom is aligned with the anti-ventilation plate. By this, the pontoon’s bottom should be parallel with the propeller shaft. [links]

The transom angle is notable because it determines how flexible the boat trimming capacity is. Of course, there are many ways to measure your boat’s transom angle. more

Ultimately, this will reduce the engine’s speed. On the flip side, if the propeller blade’s size is too small, the engine may spin at an excessive speed, consequently damaging it. [links]

Of course, there are possible disadvantages that go with this. First, lower mounting can reduce your fuel efficiency, also decreasing your pontoon speed.
This is because the horsepower and rotation per minute are amplified when the outboard is mounted significantly upwards.

Pontoon boats are exciting vessels, famed for their stability and user-friendliness. They barely flip, thanks to their size and construction. Pontoons are appreciably spacious, making them excellent options for a family ride out. Driving pontoon boats doesn’t involve significant technicalities or experience either. This is courtesy of speed and shape.
You'll also want to resize them to 800x600 or close to that or they will end up huge.

As far as motor height, the cavatation plate should be level with the bottom of the pontoons.
