Even though it is drastically smaller, it has an average depth of 3,270 meters, which is only 700 meters less deep than the Pacific. Despite the barren landscape, it is home to a diverse collection of wildlife, including whales, seals, and penguins. Unfortunately, many of these animals are currently at risk because of pollution and the ever-increasing threat of climate change. [links]

The Pacific’s average depth is 3,970 meters, the most of any ocean, but it is also the place where the Mariana Trench is located. Measuring 11,034 meters, it is the deepest place on Earth. In fact, Mount Everest would be completely submerged if placed at the very bottom. Given this fact, it should come as no surprise to learn that the Pacific boasts 50.1 percent of the total global ocean volume. Because of its enormous size, the Pacific is home to a colorful collection of sea creatures, from killer whales to dugongs, and giant squids to tiny sea slugs.

Despite its smaller size, the Indian Ocean has an average depth roughly 100 meters deeper than the Atlantic. It contains the fewest trenches of any of the other oceans, but it is where the world’s second-longest trench—the Java Trench—is located. It is there where the Indian reaches its deepest point of 7,450 meters. here

Experts estimate that 71 percent of the Earth’s surface is completely covered by water with approximately 96.5 percent of this water being ocean. There is technically one global ocean, uninterrupted by land, but we generally refer to it by its five distinct basins: the Pacific, the Atlantic, the Indian, the Southern, and the Arctic. They are aptly named for the region of the world they are located.

It has an average depth of 3,646 meters; however the Milwaukee Deep—its deepest point—measures 8,380 meters. It was only recently when Victor Vescovo, a former naval officer, made the first descent to the cold depths of this particular section of the Puerto Rico Trench. more

The ocean got its name from the Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan in 1521 who called the waters as “mar pacifico” means peaceful sea and Pacific means “peaceful”.The average depth of the ocean is 12,467 ft and it also contains the deepest places on earth known as Mariana Trench. Also, around 75% of the volcanoes are located in the Pacific Ocean basin and these volcanoes actually form a ring around the basin and therefore it is called the ring of fire. There are numerous earthquakes happen in this area because of the movement of tectonic plates of the continents and this causes Tsunamis which causes terrible destruction when hitting the land.

The sea is the interconnected system of all the earth’s oceanic bodies, including the Atlantic ocean, Pacific ocean, Indian ocean, southern ocean, and Arctic ocean. Earth is the only planet on the solar system with seas of liquid water bodies, although Mars possesses ice caps and similar planets in the solar system.

Who has never heard of the blue planet? It is our Earth, the one where we were all born, our home. The color that is associated with it is not a coincidence. Viewed from space, our planet is like a huge blue spot. How to explain this particularity? The answer is simple: this color visible from the sky comes from continents encircled by oceans, seas, lakes and rivers. These rivers alone account for 75% of the total surface of the globe. The blue aspect can also be explained by the diffusion of the white light from the Sun. A real physical phenomenon! We cannot tell you how many seas our dear Earth has. On the other hand, there are five oceans: Arctic, Antarctic, Indian, Atlantic and the Pacific.
In addition, as a little culture never hurts, we will reveal the ranking of the world’s largest oceans and seas in terms of area and their diving characteristics.

Known as the refuge for polar bears, the Arctic Ocean has no reason to blush for its beautiful surface of 14 million km². The packed ice covers its surface and can reach up to 4 meters thick. Unfortunately, the gradual melting of ice due to global warming is a phenomenon that is becoming increasingly important in the territory. It is estimated that, in less than 50 years, the waters will be fully navigable and the guardian of these places, the polar bear, will be in danger of extinction. Winter temperatures can reach -50 ° C. 400 species of animals and more than 165 species of wild plants populate this icy environment. Many diving cruises are organized, especially on the island of Spitsbergen, where seals, belugas, whales, penguins, birds but also small fish can be observed along icebergs:. All in a magical setting with sumptuous panoramas!
