Similarly, how do you adjust the bunks on a boat trailer? you can use your wrench to loosen the bolts that hold the bunks brackets in place on your boat trailer. Start at the most forward point of the bunk, raise the bunk until it touches the bottom of your boat and tighten until the bunk is in place. here

Quality discount carpet that is rubber backed, fade resistant, and ravel resistant. Take the existing bunk carpet off and sand away any glue or debris before applying new carpet.

Hold the carpet to the board and start to roll the new carpet onto the bunk board. Staple down the first side. Then roll the board until it is completely covered. When you get to this point take a staple gun and apply staples every 2 to 3 inches along the bottom of the bunk board. [links]

Substantially, it is a must to inspect each bunk for any indications of damage and rot. Aside from this, examine all the hardware of the bunk for any signs of disintegration and corrosion. Sometimes, replacing all the hardware is the best thing to do.

The wood is pressure treated and is also designed with high quality polypropylene non-woven fabric. It can be easily tied up using 1/2″ stainless steel staples. Unquestionably, this could help create a more impressive look to your trailer. Hence, if you are in the hunt for reliable, durable and superior quality wood for vessel trailer bunks, then this option won’t dishearten you. here

Experts highly suggest that it is more excellent to leave an unclosed seam that comes with enough room between each side than to clamp the carpet material since wood puffs up when it gets drenched.

Yes. Its a sealer. Its good for sealing out stains in walls, but I am using it for seat bottoms and backs in a boat that I am restoring. I am also using it on the trailer: fender wells (inside where its carpeted), steps, bunks and rear guide rails. more

Any thoughts on this? Is there a preference for wood vs. aluminum? more

Another lift company told us they use aluminum and have never has a problem with it, or even heard that theory before, but if we preferred to have wood they could do that for us anyway.

I am collecting a few quotes to have a boat lift installed at our house. Very new to this and we know very little. I have a question concerning the bunks - the rails that your boat actually rests on. One lift manufacturer told me they only use wood bunks, completely wrapped in marine grade carpet. He said wood is better than aluminum because with the weight of the boat on it, something has to give. With wood its the bunks that gives, with aluminum, its your hull that gives.

PS. we have never owned a boat before and just bought one last weekend so this is all very new to us and I might have some questions from time to time. We are already signed up for the coast guard auxiliary boat safety course.
