The current owner purchased the boat in 2008. The previous owner did an extensive restoration on the boat in 2005 including repowering. The previous owner replaced the vinyl deck with wood during their restoration. In 2013 the current owner had the deck restored back to its original state using Burch Fabric’s Persuasion TPE -009 Chiffon high performance vinyl. In 2016 the deck hatches were rebuilt and the prop shafts replaced. From 2008 until 2021 the boat was in the water only 8 years. It was out 2013 and 2016 for the above work. 2018 was the last year that it was in the water. It has been in storage at Tassier Boat Works since 2018. The engines are 2 x 283s @ 185 hp. The previous owner represented that there was 100 hours on the engines at the time that the current owner bought it in 2008. The current owner had it in the water 9 years from 2008 until 2021. Each year of use was approximately 20 hours. Therefore, the approximate hours on the engines are 280-300 hours. The boat and engines were professionally commissioned and decommissioned during each year of use by Tassier boat works.

Our antique boat shop’s approach to repair in Michigan is customized to each boat and owner as to what is needed done, as well as what should be done. It’s very important to us that the time spent on a wood boat is to the owner’s best interest with safety in mind, as well as the structural integrity of the wood boat. All work is done in-house from start to finish, including woodwork and the custom fitting of trailers and finishing. This means we are the only ones handling your boat and we remain accountable for all the work that goes into it. Your boat gets nothing short of our premium expertise at all times.

As much as I hate to do it, I must put this beautiful mahogany sailboat for sale. A Folkboat is a classic sailboat , with beautiful lines, great stability, and head turning looks. This class of sailboat was designed for use in the North Sea of Europe by families looking to safely sail those waters. The safety of this class was shown when 3 of 5 boats that completed the first singlehanded cross Atlantic race were Folkboats. SALTYDOG was built in 1965 in Sarnia Canada. She has been covered in a barn for the past 20 years and prior to that, sailed actively on Lake Michigan.
She has a full suite of sails, including a main, jib, genoa, and spinnaker, boom cover, along with all lines and rigging. Sleeps four, with a portapotty, closet, and plenty of storage.
Includes a custom built dual axle trailer. Lines, fenders, etc. included.
SALTYDOG was built with oak ribs, 2000 # keel, mahogany planking, and fiberglassed deck. The topsides are varnished, showing off the beautiful mahogany lapstrake planking. The mast, boom, and sprit pole are western cedar. Hardware is either bronze or stainless steel. Includes 10hp Honda longshaft outboard. here

The Wooden Runabout Co. occasionally offers boats for sale on behalf of our customers or to reduce our inventory of classic boats. We do our best to represent these boats accurately through photos and descriptions, however, we strongly recommend that all boats be inspected first-hand, either by the purchaser or by a reputable marine-surveyor with experience in the field of classic and antique wooden boats. For more information or to schedule a viewing for any of these boats, contact Mike or Kirk at 616-396-7248 or email [email protected] . here
