I know this will be confusing to you because one motor does and one does not, but here is what Yamaha says in their FAQ's more
Water form the pee hole is not the water that flushes the block. more
Did it just stop peeing all of a sudden or was it normal and eventually stopped? more

Re: Clogged water tube on 30hp Mercury 4 stroke
oh , forgot, i use yamaha ring free in all my fuel, seafoam to. ron here
i also flush it each time - local dealer claims if i've used cold, garden hose water to flush it that the thermostat doesn't open, and therefore may not be flushing the water tube, lower end. i've only flused it at the flush port, not with flush ears. Is that possible?- and if so, i guess it could be clogged - i only use it in Florida salt water. I'll try to get to the exhaust cover.

Thanks to both of you. Project will have to wait again till the weekend - work gets in the way.
Bay has expanded its line of kits to convert many Mariner and Yamaha outboards to long or extra long shaft. Even though they cost a fraction of factory parts alone to convert standard motors to long shaft, Bay extension kits are designed and manufactured of top quality materials to give lasting reliability to your outboard motor.
Using compatible alloys in both the housings, shafts, and studs, these kits are as corrosion resistant as the motor itself. All shaft and studs are of stainless steel and housings are cast of the same type of alloy as used in the motors.

Have someone squeeze the primer bulb as you try and accelerate, if it accelerates fine you probably need a new fuel pump. They are really a low pressure pump that puts a pulse in the line to pump fuel. Most just call it a fuel pump.
It could be the needle jet settings, northern motors are tuned different than southern motors.
I have had a blown head gasket before and it will idle all day, but will not get up to throttle to get on plane. Always examine your spark plugs, they can tell you if your burning too lean or too rich etc.
Small water droplets indicate a cracked head gasket. [links]
Make sure fuel tank is vented, not enough vent will bog and even shut down. here
Good morning all, looking for some advice with a yamaha issue and any help would be greatly appreciated.
So, 1993 Yamaha tlrr 70 hp 2 stroke. Cranks fine idles fine but bogs down as soon as you ease into the throttle "ONLY WHEN ITS COLD OUTSIDE". When its been in the sun it will run wide open flawlessly but on these cold mornings it wont let me get past idle for 30 minutes or longer. Replaced the fuel lines, filter, and cleaned tank. Drained carburetor bowls and they were clean. No clue whats going on with it and why this literally only happens in cold weather. Thanks for any advice!!
