Just a note - Its always a good idea to run a water separating fuel filter in the line from the tank to the engine - the Racor style ones with a clear bowl are a popular choice. These engines, with efi pumps and injectors, do not like dirty fuel so such a filter should be a standard fitting if you want to prevent expensive fuel system issues. more
Seems like it may be the neutral throttle limiter kicking in. Bit hard to be sure because we only saw a very short video. But your description suggests that might be the reason. more
When it is in gear and running at higher throttle, is it doing something similar? If so its possible you may be hitting the rev limiter. Possibly under-propped a little. here
So that would likley explain what is happening when you are attempting to rev it up when it is in neutral. Solution is easy - dont rev it up in neutral! LOL!
After the 3rd time out this season, it seems the starboard motor again is hard to get going, more so than last year. Even at anchor after about an hour, hard to get going again so seems issue is back but getting worse than it was previously.
Did test first on Port engine which hasn't been any issue. [links]
New plugs, properly gapped per spec. (I do this ever year)(I set at .060 with flat feeler gauge)(Plugs looked very good and clean when I removed from previous season)
