1952 and earlier don’t have OOB connection points for throttle and tiller. I’m sure there’s a Rube Goldberg way of hooking the tiller up.
1953 and later (1958), you can use OMC standard (as in, the standard contemporary with the motors) tiller and throttle hookups. more

Your engine's RPM range is important in choosing the right propeller for a given application. For example, if you look at your tachometer at top speed and it is not within the engine's RPM range then that is generally not good. You want your RPM's to be within the proper range while at wide open throttle (WOT). Be sure to do your testing under your normal boating conditions and with a good propeller (not bent, cracked, or excessively chipped). more

I have a 1955 Evinrude 7.5 HP that I am having trouble with pulling the rope to start. I am looking for a diagram on the bottom side of the starter rope assembly. There is three springs and I was wanting to make sure I have them on correct. I would like to buy new springs if anyone knows were to get them at. I put a new tension spring on there last year and went boating and the motor died and the starter rope assembly would not engage with the fly wheel. Its getting close to fishing season and I want to get this fixed.
Any help would be appreciated.
