Lots of guys use Flitz particularly their metal polish on rusted SS with success. Seems to be a quality product.
Something I would add to this is that most rust I found is from the complete lack of hardware bedding done on a lot boats today. Rust often happens because water gets trapped underneath the hardware. Any time I saw rust leaching out from SS hardware, I did the following: Remove the hardware. Clean the rust often replacing SS screws/bolts. Properly bed the hardware with 4200. [links]
