174-8778K1 (9 amp) & 174-9710K1 (16 amp) Stators
These two stators are identical, except for the battery charging output. If you have a voltage regulator with "5279" in the part number, you can use 174-9710K1. If you only have a rectifier, you'll need to use 174-8778K1, unless you upgrade the rectifier to a CDI #194-5279 voltage regulator.

The application chart is just a general guide. Always include your engine model and serial numbers to be sure you receive the correct parts. If possible, also include the part number that's on your old part. more

174-2075K1 (9 amp) & 174-2075K2 (16 amp) Stators
These two stators are identical, except for the battery charging output. If you have a voltage regulator with "5279" in the part number, you can use 174-2075K2. If you only have a regular rectifier, you'll need to use 174-2075K1, unless you upgrade the rectifier to a CDI #194-5279 voltage regulator.
Note: These stators should only be used with CDM modules. If you have a switch box, use 174-8778K1 or 174-9710K1 instead.

Part numbers that begin with an R are remanufactured by CDI/Rapair and come with a 90-day warranty. Most "R" part numbers require that you send your old part in to be remanufactured.

15 volts is getting fairly high and could damage electronics and battery if it goes any higher. The rectifier only turns AC into DC and does nothing to manage the voltage, that is done by the regulator. Not sure but your motor may have the regulator and rectifier in the same module. The regulator can fry quickly if a battery lead comes loose or gets corroded. [links]

Common concern with motors of this size and vintage. Some of these motors had regulators and some did not. Not uncommon for outputs to reach 17V at high rpm's. The battery itself acts as a kind of regulator and keeps the charging system from 'running away'. If yours had a regulator then it is not working and should be fixed.

On motors without a regulator, it is a must to use a marine type battery and NOT an automotive battery. The marine batteries will tolerate the high voltage and the auto type will not. Have not heard from anyone that had electronics damaged by overvoltage of this magnitude. [links]
