The Z72 continues the Zeelander trend by showing off her curves. The exterior look of the Z72, dubbed “Rolls Royce of the Seas”, is developed in collaboration with Cor D. Rover. Every yacht from this builder makes a splash with her exterior lines and the Z72 is no exception, with a striking S-shaped sheerline. The distinctive rounded stern will unfold invitingly to reveal a spacious swim platform, while three pairs of extremely large hullside windows punctuate the curvaceous hull. A raked, curving windshield and distinctively framed side windows are topped by a coachroof with a finely drawn grabrail. [links]

The all-new Y85 designed by the famous Italian firm Pininfarina is a powerful and comfortable yacht from Princess Yachts that can accommodate up to eight guests four large cabins. The company’s brand new F45 and V50 will also be debuting in Ft Lauderdale. [links]
The new PB70 is a 70-foot yacht built on a semi-displacement design that was designed to be able to plane more easily. Like all Palm Beach Motor Yachts, it has a welcoming saloon, large windows and the warm glow of golden teak. It also has a top speed of 38 knots and a cruising speed of 32 knots.

The brand-new 186-foot-long Hargrave Custom Yacht, BABA’S, was built in Turkey and is the largest yacht the company has built thus far. Her wide beam allows for a spacious six stateroom configuration with a full beam on deck master suite, a deluxe VIP suite on the upper deck, and four full guest suites on the lower cabin deck.

FLIBS, the largest in-water boat show in the world, will unveil some of this year’s most luxurious, globally-recognized new yachts, including the world debut of Lürssen’s 311-foot Madsummer, the show’s largest mega yacht with sweeping exterior curves and a colorful interior; Abeking & Rasmussen’s 262-foot Excellence, a superyacht masterpiece bringing forward a new era in superyacht design; Heesen Yacht’s Vida, a 180-foot yacht that offers more than 2,500 square-feet of luxurious comfort and ample spaces for entertaining; and Lexus’s Marquis Lexus 650, a 65-foot yacht crafted with a similar design as the automobile brand’s premium cars.

Majesty 140 is an elegant 140-foot superyacht that offers unrivaled luxury. Despite the glamour of the superyachts and the attention they draw, Phil Purcell, CEO/president of Marine Industries Association of South Florida, stressed that the show is largely one for the masses and a major contributor to Broward County’s economic development, including the building of a new convention center and expansion of the area’s retail industry.
And that industry employs 112,000 people in the county and 144,000 regionally, he said. “We’re the refit and repair capital of the world.”
“A lot of American owners have worked their way up,” he said. “People have started with a smaller boat and worked up to a larger boat as they became more successful in life.”
The 60th Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show opened Wednesday with an array of airborne and submersible “toys” for the super-rich, as well as a village of superyachts that includes a newly minted 311-foot vessel from Germany.
Expensive accessories positioned by marketers as must-haves for well-heeled yacht owners include on-board helicopters, personal submarines and collectible automobiles from Ferrari, Maserati and Range Rover.
