As for the head, I don't have a "Y" valve on mine. If I did, it would be a PITA to reach it. Hopefully, you have a valve. How my tank is setup, the suction discharge line goes down to a "Y" connector (your valve should replace that connector if you have one). One end of the "Y" valve goes to the tank, and the other end goes out to the macerator pump. I did find that if you don't have the suction cap closed tight that the macerator pump will not work well at all (for future reference).

#3 - I have a remote spotlight that did the same thing. I took it apart, and cleaned it as best as I could. Salt water had gotten inside of the pivot mechanism, and created too much friction for the motor to move the light. After I cleaned up as much rust as I could ( I really don't remember what it looked like anymore), I lubricated it with white lithium grease, and it's worked fine going on a year now.

One more question - I have been to two different marinas and neither one could pump out the waste tank - it wouldn't create suction. Is there a valve somewhere that needs to be turned or something?

My dealer bought me a new light to install.. I didn't have to use it, but I'm sure I will eventually. If you go with another brand, you'll probably have to buy some starboard to mount it on (you'll see what I mean when you try). You'll have to cut it to size, and rout the edges if you want it to look nice.

Thanks for your replies! I got the waste mercerator working - I didn't know I had to turn the head switch on. The seats started to split so I am just going to have them recovered. The upper tilt motor was completely locked up and no one has parts, so I am just going to have to replace the entire light. here

My boat doesn't have a fuse panel. Wellcraft decided to use pushbutton circuit breakers installed next to the toggle switches on my model. But I do have a 20 amp fuse near my battery switch. That could be what you're looking for though. The previous owner wasn't very knowledgeable about boating and only told me that if the outboard didn't crank to check it. here

There is a grounding bar mounted on the back wall in my console and an accessory bar mounted along the backside of the helm just under tachometer.
The accessory bar is pretty easy to access and add onto. Though I would suggest picking up a new one for less than $10 at Westmarine or Ace if yours is corroded. It would be a good idea to swap out the grounding bar too while you?re at it. [links]

1. Does any one know where the fuse panel for this boat is ?? I look everywhere but can not locate it. (There is no clear "kill" switch for the ignition and there is no "kill" insert that I could attach to the ignition switch other than the key.) more

Without wiring diagram for the ignition key, I am unable to help him get the boat runing again.

Bill Davis and Ed Crafton founded Wellcraft Marine Corporation in 1955 in Sarasota, Florida. At first, the company built wooden boats 14-17 feet long, as well as smaller 12-foot Scythians. In the early 1960s, Wellcraft began manufacturing molded fiberglass cases, which was a true innovation at the time. These were small, including cabin boats up to 23 feet long with a deep-V hull. Almost immediately, when the company launched production, it began to export boats to foreign markets, where consumers quickly appreciated the quality, good appearance and practicality of Wellcraft boats. In the 70s, the shipyard produced more than 20 different models, including boats with a trimaran type hull, which showed a very smooth ride.

However, Wellcraft Scarab, first released in 1975, became one of the shipyard's most famous boats.

Hello gang. After 2 beautiful days on the water diving around Great Keppel Island, Queensland, Australia (Google Maps or Google Earth). I now find the vacu flush toilet won't vacuum. I set out to find the problem and cant find the location of the pump, vacuum unit or the holding tank. I have had a look at the Dometic website and think I might be able to troubleshoot the problem if I could just locate the sucker.

I FOUND IT. It is behind the panel on the Starboard side of aft berth. A mother to get to as I had to take the aft panel off as well as the starboard panel. [links]
