“There’s usually another boat that they rent out that follows us no matter where we are,” he explained. “[The boat] has different [production] crew members on for shifts like breaks and stuff. Like, if they’re on a break, instead of going back to their hotel or land, there’s usually another boat. No matter where we go, they can stay on that boat for like an hour or so until they have to come back.” more
When a fan recently asked Captain Lee where the production team sleeps, he simply stated, “Not on the boat.”
“With a team so large (and only so much room on the yacht), the entire Below Deck production crew sleeps in hotels,” a producer explained in 2019. “When the yacht is docked, they walk to the yacht. When the yacht is anchored, they take a water taxi.” more
“I think it’s the fresh faces every year. People like that,” he told Showbiz Cheat Sheet. “The charter guests are different every year. The location is different every year.”
He added, “I’m not discrediting the Housewives franchise, but I think [the reason] why we have higher ratings than [the Housewives] is because every season is a fresh start. You always have to have a few returns but then having them interact with new people who they never met before. Plus, the whole work environment is different. It’s not like they’re just hanging out like, ‘Hey let’s go to this dinner party.’ Who wants to watch that?”

In addition to Hannah, there will be plenty more familiar faces featured this season of Below Deck Med, including Captain Sandy Yawn, João Franco, and Colin Macy-O'Toole. After some hiccups in Season 3 of Below Deck Med, Hannah has a renewed commitment to her job, although Captain Sandy's expectations are higher than ever. Now that João is officially bosun of the Below Deck Med crew, he's ready for a fresh start, but he'll definitely have his work cut out for himself with this new batch of deckhands. And Colin is back to bring the fun, although his homesickness and trouble connecting with the new crew may put a bit of a damper on things for the usually delightful deckhand. more
Jack Stirrup joined the Below Deck Mediterranean crew for season 4 as a deckhand and has since started a new life in London. At the beginning of his time on the Bravo series, Jack would often butt heads with his bosun, Joao Franco. Joao always called Jack out for his lack of work ethic and only taking the job as a deckhand to travel and have fun. After a kick in the pants from his bosun, Jack became much more useful to the deck team and made a significant improvement in his work. [links]
Besides stepping up for his deck team, Jack began to develop feelings for the second stew Aesha Scott. The pair were always seen joking around and enjoying each other's company. After asking her out on a date and hitting it off, the deckhand decided to ask Aesha to be his girlfriend. Even though the two didn't continue their relationship outside the show, Aesha will always remember the great friendship they shared.
Jack Stirrup joined the Below Deck Mediterranean crew for season 4. Since leaving the show, he has welcomed a baby boy into his life.
So, what has Jack been up to since season four? After departing Sirrocco in France, Jack flew back to his home country of England. When he arrived back home, Jack realized his relationship with Aesha felt kind of forced and decided to call off the romance, which he revealed during the Below Deck Med Season 4 After Show (via BravoTV). However, Aesha remembered their breakup a bit differently. After they left the boat, Jack told Aesha he wanted her to come to London and visit his family but said she should wait to book a ticket until he went to this wedding he was attending. The next thing she knew, Jack was on his way to the wedding with his ex-girlfriend. While they did not end on the best of terms, Jack and Aesha still have nothing but love for each other.
Per Ben's personal website, he runs a successful catering business that takes him around the globe, and he is also available for private bookings. He also gives private instruction classes and can be booked for guest appearances at any event. Ben also has become a Certified Health Consultant through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition. Ben Robinson was a staple on Bravo hit Below Deck for its first four seasons, alongside notorious Chief Stew Kate Chastain. The quick-witted British chef was known for putting out incredible dishes no matter how demanding or ridiculous the primary guests could be. Known for his signature spiky hair and no-nonsense attitude, Ben became a fan favorite, and no other Below Deck chef was able to fill the void after his departure in season 4. Matt Burns, Adrian Marin, Kevin Dobson, and Rachel Hargrove each only lasted one season since Ben's exit, and the galley has never been the same.
He was also called over to sister series Below Deck Mediterranean for season 1 and again in season 4, when Captain Sandy Yawn found herself in a pickle without a chef midseason. Ben joined chief stew Hannah Ferrier in 2019 after replacing Mila Kolomeitseva and Anastasia Surmava and was only onboard for a few charters. Unfortunately for fans of the chef, Ben has not since returned to Below Deck since his stint in the Mediterranean, and it doesn't look like he'll be returning to the seas anytime soon. Ben has found great success back on land, and fans have new ways to keep up with him.
Additionally, one of Ben's biggest successes beyond Below Deck is his relationship with Food Network. He has a plethora of recipes to his name on the popular website, including those for shrimp scampi, chicken piccata, and Steak au Poivre — all of which have stellar ratings. Those who subscribe to Food Network Kitchen can watch instructional videos of Ben, and users can learn to make their meals with the funny and charismatic Brit. The chef also occasionally posts instructional videos to his popular Instagram page, which is full of vibrant and colorful posts. For Ben's biggest fans, he is also available on Cameo, with a hefty price tag of $250 per video.
