HighHeat™ is a hand mixable epoxy putty stick specifically formulated to bond and repair materials that will be exposed to high temperatures in automotive and industrial maintenance applications. It cures to a tough, hard bond with little to no shrinkage. This industrial-strength product outperforms conventional epoxy putties at high temperatures and sets in 1 hour at room temperature. After 8 hours, it can be drilled, tapped, machined, ground, filed and painted. HighHeat™ is rated at a tensile strength of 800 PSI and cures to a machine grey in color. It is able to withstand continuous heat exposure of 450ºF and intermittent heat exposure to 500ºF

An exhaust leak can create a great deal of noise, increase your emissions and cause the check engine light in your vehicle to come on. Extensive leaks can fill the cabin of your vehicle with carbon monoxide, which can make you feel sick or even fall asleep while driving. While extensive rusting or rotting of your exhaust system will require replacing all or parts of it, small leaks can be resolved using exhaust tape or epoxy. You can even make a patch out of soda or beer cans.

First, remove the cracked manifold from the vehicle by removing the holding bolts from that section. Depending on the make and model of your vehicle, there will be either two or three of these. Then, take the damaged manifold off and look closely at the damage. If the crack in the manifold is narrow, as opposed to a large enough that you can get a finger inside it, it may be possible to solder it; these repairs can only be undertaken if the crack in the exhaust manifold is not too large.

If you have never used a welding torch or soldering iron before, do not attempt to make this repair yourself. Set the oxy-acetylene torch to its lowest level of heat, and place the tip of the silver solder against the crack of the damaged exhaust manifold. Use a size one tip solder and place the torch very near to melt it onto and into the crack. Hold the torch evenly and use gentle strokes over the area so that you do not burn too much heat into one spot. here

Once you have cleaned any damaged edges and removed the excess irons filings and dust, take the manifold to a worktop. here

Inspect these parts for any apparent leaks. Also, ensure you check out hard-to-see areas using a mechanic’s mirror. more

Large leaks could be visible to the naked eye, making them a lot easier to spot. To get a perfect patch, you can get beer cans. If you’ve got a thin sheet of aluminum, this could work too. here

If your car is designed a little lower than others, it’s the probable cause for a leak lying under your pipes.

And to get quality, DIY tips could also pose a challenge. Quality facts and correct set of steps ensure you get a non-leaky pipe.
