Airbus are best recognised as manufacturers of large aircraft that are commonly used by commercial airlines. However, since 1997, they have also been designing and producing business jets. Airbus offer the most modern and comprehensive jets in the world, focusing on giving customers wide and spacious cabins to travel in.
Embraer began operations in 1969. The Brazilian company originally specialised in turboprop planes, but since the year 2000, they have branched out into the business jet sector. Their Legacy models are very popular mid-size aircraft, and profits are further supported by their Phenom and Lineage ranges. more
Boeing have been manufacturing commercial aircraft since 1916, and in the late 1990s, they also entered the private jet market. Recently, Boeing have been creating business jets based on the 777, 787 and the 747, which can hold up to around 50 passengers and also have enough space for a master bedroom, bathroom and living area.
With fractional jets, customers (referred to as "owners") buy a �share� of a plane, rather than an entire plane. The price is pro-rated from the market price of a full aircraft. Owners then have guaranteed access (for 50�400 hours annually or a certain number of days of the year, depending on share size) to that plane, or a similar plane in the operators fleet, with as little as four hours� notice. Fractional owners pay a monthly maintenance fee and an �occupied� hourly operating fee. Usually the latter is charged only when an owner or guest is on board, not when the plane is flying to a pick up point, or returning to base after completing a mission. more
A BUSINESS JET, private jet, or bizjet is a jet aircraft designed for transporting small groups of people. Business jets may be adapted for other roles, such as the evacuation of casualties or express parcel deliveries, and some are used by public bodies, government officials or the armed forces.
FRACTIONAL JETS is a common term for fractional ownership of aircraft. The first such program was launched in 1986 by NetJets. Other providers include business jet operators Flexjet (Flexjet is operated by Jet Solutions LLC) and Flight Options. Fractional aviation is also available in non-jet aircraft, PlaneSense's Pilatus PC-12 fleet, or combined fleet of jets and turboprops such as Executive AirShare's Embraer Phenom 100/300s and King Air 90/350 s or AirSprint's Cessna Citation Excels and turboprop Pilatus PC-12s or Autumn Air's use of Cessna Citation Is, IIs & Vs and Beechcraft King Air 90s & 200s. more

Classic aircraft were described as, “The most affordable and most practical way to go private.” The Premium label would mean an “industry-leading collection of in-demand newer aircraft that include light jets to ultra-long-range planes, all of which have modern cabins and WiFi access.” [links]
At the highest level, the Luxe designation would provide “the pinnacle of charter. the newest planes,” from super-midsize jets through ultra-long-range options.
Almost all production business jets, such as General Dynamics' Gulfstream and the Gates Lear Jet (now built by Bombardier), have had two or three engines, though the Jetstar, an early business jet, had four. Advances in engine reliability and power have rendered four-engine designs obsolete, and only Dassault Aviation still builds three-engine models (in the Falcon line). The emerging market for so-called "very light jets" and "personal jets", has seen the introduction (at least on paper) of several single-engine designs as well.
There are approximately 11,000 business jets in the worldwide fleet with the vast majority of them based in the United States or owned by US companies. The European market is the next largest, with growing activity in the Middle East, Asia, and Central America. here

Because of their low-volume productions and long lead times, new aircraft orders can take two to three years for delivery. This peculiarity fuels a large pre-owned marketplace, with aircraft for immediate availability.
