The Grand Banks 46 Classic is attractive for many experienced cruisers. She offers plenty of interior space, yet easily manageable for a crew of two. This 46 is the galley-down arrangement with one forward stateroom with en-suite head. In the salon, comfortable seating with storage lockers frame a built-in teak table for a secure environment underway or at anchor. The lower helm station provides a comfortable operation in foul weather. The large owner's aft cabin is arranged with a walkaround, queen-sized berth and lots of storage and locker space. Master head to port with Vacuflush toilet. Stall shower is a separate compartment on the stbd side. The forward guest stateroom has a V-berth that converts with a filler to a full beam queen sided berth. Guest head and stall shower are accessible from the stateroom and the galley area. Wide, walk-around decks and aft cockpit allow for the crew's safe, secure movement while at sea and during docking. There are storage locations in the large cockpit lazarette, in the FB seat lockers and in the forward deck locker for fenders, cleaning supplies, a dinghy, an outboard motor, power cables, dock lines, and more. The engine room, with over five-feet of headroom, has ample space for the generator, refrigeration compressors, and air conditioning equipment. The engine room is large and well thought-out. Engines are twin turbocharged Cat diesels delivering cruising speeds from 8 to 14+ knots with top speeds to 18 knots.
Brown Eyed Girl is our 2019 Fountaine Pajot Astréa 42 Maestro Version, Hull #6 based at Nanny Cay Marina on Tortola.
The Astréa 42 has been awarded the prestigious “Best Multihull of the Year Awards” by the French Magazines “Le Monde du Multicoque” and “Voile Magazine”.
Fountaine Pajot briefed that their aim for the Astréa was to apply all their expertise to achieve an exciting benchmark with the dynamic design of the new 42' yacht, and the early reports on Astréa Hulls #1 & #2 indicate plenty of excitement under sail, and refined comforts aboard.
