Bondo, et al.<br /><br />I listened to you guys during my rebuild, I had a line from the stern to the bow that I measured everything off of. Amazing how a piece of string can be one of the most useful tools ever.<br /><br />I believe this was one of the tools used by the Egyptians!<br /><br />Peace.<br /><br />Ed. more

The right temperature is just under 200 degrees and we heat soaked the area until we had that temperature spread out over the area we wanted to bend. more
We heated the part with an industrial heat gun on the area we wanted to bend and used the tie down strap to gently bend it to shape. here
Did you know you can bend Fiberglass if you warm it to the right temperature? here
Here my assistant warps a hood at the rear to get a better fit. The device in his hand is a laser thermometer we used to monitor the applied heat to the piece.
Any hotter and the fiberglass might burn, and colder and you get no results. once the part has been heated properly and bent to the required amount we left it to cool off for 24 hours under the tension of the strap before we released it. [links]
Beside above, how does fiberglass react to heat? Fiberglass cures by heat. The resin and hardner create a reaction that heats up to cure the resin. It can withstand some decent heat. more
