I take the liberty at this point to reach out to the local Evinrude certified mechanic in Largo. SUNCOAST MARINE. I get to them on Tuesday morning after Memorial Day and it is there now. going for water test tomorrow night. Bob Burke, owner at Suncoast Marine stated that whoever had the boat last. that did the rigging. really messed things up! Oil line wrapped around the air box. and pinched around the throttle. which caused your issues with the throttle release, etc. here

Back on the phone with Carolina Skiff Warranty (as they sold the original boat and motor as a total package to the St. Augustine dealer and said they would now take ownership of all issues with this package.)

Finally, I am tasked (two weeks of ownership mind you of this brand new boat. never splashed) in having to trail this boat 6 hours north to Carolina Skiff's plant in Waycross, GA. Decks removed, motor dismounted, all rigging cables removed and replaced with brand new. but, no engine diagnostics checked as to why the check engine light issues. 3 Days & 2 nights later. Carolina Skiff makes arrangements with another Carolina Skiff dealer in Palmetto, FL from me to make the 6 hour drive back home. and then, another hour down to Palmetto Skiff dealer where HE is now supposed to do the engine diagnostics and needed repairs, etc.

That next morning. I called the General Sales Manager and the Sales Rep at First Coast Boat & Marine. and they told me they would call Carolina Skiff to see what could be done.
Now. the same General Sales Manager also told me upon closing. that I could take my boat to ANY Carolina Skiff dealer for any and all warranty work. as I live 3.5 hours from them and outside of purchase. did not have plans to visit them again. I was assured I could get service from my local Carolina Skiff dealer. more

He does start walking over the boat and says, "Well. here is where you were taking in water from" The idiots that rigged the boat just drilled the four bracket holes. but, never completed the sealing or mounting properly. so, water was coming in from the two bottom holes! He then went on to say, "Look at your steering cable, it's kinked! That's a gonner already!" He finished up with, "Who ever rigged this boat. does not know what they are doing as this is all wrong and one of THE worst rigging jobs I have ever seen!"
