When you hit the key of your boat to turn it on, your boat motor needs an immediate burst of power to get started. These batteries are designed to produce immediate power. Some of these batteries have the ability to produce several hundred amps within a blink of time. This should give your motor ample cranking amps so that you can get going much faster. here

Every year when boating season comes near, boaters everywhere begin checking over their boat to ensure that they are prepared to have fun on the water. This requires them to perform routine maintenance tasks, search for parts that may be needed, and of course charge up and prepare their batteries to ensure a great first time out. Unfortunately though, batteries are where most people have issues. If not cared for properly, batteries can fail and there seems to be too many battery types for a single person to figure out. Everyone wants to know which battery will be best for them. Here is a simple guide to tell you all about the various marine batteries, especially the very confusing marine starting battery, explained: [links]

One of the main differences between these battery styles is the way that they are made. If you could look inside of a starting battery, you would see that there are thin plates that are larger than other batteries. This is because starting amps are based on the battery’s surface power. The larger plates the less resistance the amps will have, and ultimately, the better your boat will crank.

Every boat can benefit from having a starting battery on board. They provide amps quickly and they are able to recharge easily. If your other battery fails you because you spent too much time listening to the radio and running lights, the starting battery can get your boat back to shore. These batteries are more than capable of running your boat. However, they cannot run your boat over many hours.

The Odyssey has a better long-term performance than most other batteries in its league though it is a bit more expensive. This is not unexpected as dual-purpose batteries are usually on the more expensive side of the scale. Overall though, the extra price is worth the top-tier performance. The manufacturer claims that the battery can be stored for up to 2 years on an open circuit without needing to recharge. [links]

Overall, the Optima BlueTop is an exceedingly competent marine battery and is a great upgrade from your stock battery. It has a lot of power, some neat mechanics to make sure it starts no matter the weather and is easy to transport and set up. Best of all, it doubles as a starting battery so you don’t need to buy a separate one to start your boat. The manufacturer also offers a generous 2-year warranty which means you can get a free replacement within 2 years if something goes wrong.

If you are in need of a boat starting battery, A marine cranking battery is a great option. A cranking battery allows a marine vessel to start by sending power to the engine when the ignition switch is activated. For this reason these batteries are also known as starter batteries. To start a motor, short and strong bursts of energy must be sent from the battery.

When a cranking battery is subjected to continuous use, (e.g. trolling), it is subject to overheating and depletion of available capacity. By the same regard, when a deep cycle battery is called upon to provide the bursts of energy necessary to start an engine, it won't always perform. here

Choosing the right marine batteries is more than a matter of going with a reliable brand that your customers can trust. Even the best battery is only as good as its application and maintenance. This starts, of course, with knowing the differences between the two most common types of marine batteries: cranking batteries and deep cycle marine batteries.

The Dual Circuit Plus™ Battery Switch is an ideal solution for switching multiple battery banks. One switch simultaneously switches two battery banks while isolating the battery banks from each other. Battery isolation protects the Start battery from being discharged by the many House loads such as refrigerators, stereos, and lights, while preserving it for starting the engine. Battery isolation also protects sensitive electronics from voltage spikes and sags that may occur in the Start circuit during engine starting.
