Bought a used 1998 bf9.9 and understand that they can be increased to 15hp. I already took off the throtle screw which gets it to 13.2. I've read that replacing the carb jets is the rest of the difference. Is that all that needs to be done #48 to #52 carb jets?

Do some brands of these outboards handle the increased hp better than others? here
I recently heard about 9.9 to 15hp conversion kits and in the beginning of my research process and have a few questions.
What are some.cons to these kits?
Are these kits available for all outboard brands?
What are some of the best resources for learning more about these conversion kits? more

My fear for you is that if you did not loosen the brass collet at all after installing the throttle cam that you are ramping up too quickly to WOT. here
