the rollover happened because a 17 yearold kid in a civic nerfed me on the freeway. He was on my right and sent me into the next lane where the trailer barely clipped a car that was next to the boat. Without the trailer i would have been able to drive out of it i think but with all that weight behind me we got all catty wampus and jackknifed going 60 on the freeway. witnesses said durring the !st flip we had the truck about 8 or so feet in the air. We ended up doing a 540 degree spinn and rolled a total of 2 and three quarter times comming to rest on passenger side door facing the opposite direction from where we were going. The boat snapped off the trailer and skidded 6 or 7 hundred feet on its belly across 4 lanes of of oncomming traffic finally comming to rest on an on ramp. my passenger and I survived without any real serious injuries only because we were wearing our seatbelts. if we werent i would be typing this from a wheelchair or worse, not at all. here
Truthfully i think i will just buy one instead as i know it will probably cost me about the same (considering materials and my effort) and then i will have a warranty etc. as well as knowing it is safe and tracks well. but i was just curious if anyone could tell me about their "homemade" trailer fabbing experiences.
What happened to cause the rollover. Would you risk that hapening with your racecar/truck on it.
