the hole in the lug should match what it's mounting to. the Crowns have 2 mounting options, right? the standard battery post and the Stud. what one are you going to use? if you use the stud match the lug to it. same thing on the other end match the lug to what you are mounting to. if you are using the battery terminal I recommend using military terminals. like these,

check out the thumb nails. they make a nice clean terminal. that site is out of stock at the moment but you can get them anywhere.
BTW I have bought from Prime 4x4 before small American company with great customer service. highdesertranger more

The optional equalizing phase is a controlled 5% overcharge, which equalizes and balances the voltage and specific gravity in each cell, the effect of increasing the charge voltage. Equalizing reverses the build-up of chemical effects like stratification, where acid concentration is greater in the bottom of the battery. It also helps remove sulfate crystals that might have built up on the plates. The frequency recommendation varies by manufacturer from once a month to once a year, from 10 to 100 deep cycles, or when a specific gravity difference between cells reaches .03 (or 30 points). To equalize, fully recharge the battery; next, increase the charging voltage to the manufacturer's recommendations (if you cannot find one, add 5%). Heavy gassing should start occurring (be very cardeful about safety precautions). Take specific gravity readings in each cell once per hour. Equalization has occurred once the specific gravity values no longer rise during the gassing stage.

5.6. After replacing the hold-down bracket, reconnect the cables in reverse order, i.e., attach the POSITIVE cable first and then the NEGATIVE cable last. [links]

These terminal connectors are zinc plated and fits either a 3/8 inch or a 5/16-inch terminal post. The fact that it is zinc plated gives you three times more conductivity. This increases the power the battery can put out to your equipment. [links]

This clamp easily attaches to a 3/8” stud and connects or disconnects easily thanks to the wingnut. It is rust resistant and zinc galvanized. The tension bolt is made of steel which ensures to be a good conductor of power.

You may not realize that your car battery terminals are made different from your marine batteries, but they are. Most car battery terminals are made using lead alloy or zinc. This is it to resist corrosion. Your boat’s battery terminals have a lot more to deal with. At any time, they could end up submerged in water, exposed to salt spray, and deal with intense vibrations. That is why many marine battery terminals are made with a tin-plated annealed copper terminal.

The battery you use to power your trolling motor is probably one of the most vital components to consider when you want your boat to run like a well-oiled machine. That’s why it’s important to familiarise yourself with the different types of batteries available so that you can buy the right battery for your boat and your preferred application.

Lithium-ion batteries are very lightweight which means they burn less fuel and allow your motor to run longer for much less. Recharging time is significantly less than other batteries as well, and they have a higher voltage output while maintaining a level power curve. Which means your motor will run at a level speed until the power runs out- no need for a gradual decrease in voltage over time like with other types of batteries. On the downside, Lithium batteries give you minimal warning before they go dead so you have to be vigilant, and they’re not the most budget-friendly option either. more
