Most portables are either 20 or 15" shafts; so this one is less likely to cavitate on you with its 22" shaft. Motor looks new and is hardly used (less than 3 hours). However I have started and ran it in a bucket of water regularly (to keep the carbs clean) since I bought it from the original owner who purchased it new a few years ago. Motor will start right up and idle correctly after 1-2 pulls.
