I'll log a quick note here for anyone experiencing this issue. I took my F21 out in the the bay last week and while cruising out of the marina I heard a few beeps. At first I thought it was the depth alarm on the fish finder as I messed with the settings a while back. I cruised for about 15 min to a spot and while idling heard the intermittent beeps again - the engine appeared to run fine. I counted 6 beeps and Googled showed that it meant: Failure detected with: MAP, MAT TPS or Flash Check Sum (ECM). Engine should operate fine but service is recommended.

I checked the oil and already noted that water was spouting like normal. There was no continuous beep so I knew it was not a critical failure. I decided to head back - after driving for about 10 min @ around 4000 RPM the engine lost power and beeps sounded. It regained power after a slow idle and I arrived back fine. Every 5 or so minutes I would hear 6 beeps as I cruised through the marina. Seemed to worse at low RPM. Spent a few hours googling and found a few posts stating that a loose injector wire could also cause this problem. I re-seated the plug wires and the injector wires. That solved the problem - a few test rides showed no beeps and the engine was noticeably smoother. The next day again no more beeps and the engine ran fine - I ran for about an hour at various speeds.

I will take it past the dealer this week for a checkup and I will definitely now invest in a SmartCraft VesselView for more detailed engine information.

Hoping you guys can help me out. I am a new boat owner, I thought I had gotten into the habit of checking oil when I fueled up. Well, I guess I thought wrong. It had been a few weeks since I had been out fishing.

I was out on the lake Sunday, boat was running fine with no issues (water pressure was good), livewell was well stocked with fish. As I move to a new cove to fish, I slow the boat down and I hear 4 warning beeps then it stops. A few minutes later 4 beeps again. I check oil take and low and behold, no oil in the tank. I take the cowl off and find that the oil tank there is completely full. I slowly make my way back to the boat ramp and put in about 2 qt's of oil, that is all I had. I start the boat up and immediately get 4 beeps, wait it out and 4 beeps again.

I'm hoping to get out tomorrow night to give the old tub a go (probably wishful thinking). This beeping shtick had me worried but. I ride again. SO CLOSE! more

Constant beep.. while motor running can also mean. empty water out of the water seperator filter. that might only be on XRI type injections. my experience. here
